an extra in the club scenes. I think that the music is great. I thought the movie was great. It keeps your interest. Some over the top lip-syncing on Don Michael Paul's part but who cares. Celebrity Skin takes the movie.

Renee Humphrey playing what has become a kind of standard role in semi exploitation teen movies: The sexy teenager runs away from home and is exploited by dubious types and becomes a (kind of) stripper. Ms. Humphrey was later to play the role of Didi in the delightful farce "Sex Monster" as the lesbian lover of Meryl Hemmingway.
Krista Erickson does a very nice job too as the hooker who can sing

Probably the greatest ensemble cast performance of 1995, `Get Shorty' is also one of the greatest comedies of that given year as well. It's witty, smart and engaging from start to finish, with enough twists and turns to keep us glued yet not so many that we wind up confused. There is really little to nothing worth griping about since the film is, well, perfect.

I almost hate reviewing films this good because it becomes difficult to find things to talk about.

So, `Get Shorty' revolves around Chili Palmer, loan shark turned Hollywood movie mogul as he is turned onto the business while collecting from sleazy Hollywood director Harry Zimm. Chili has an interest in film (he loves movies) and he is growing tired of the life of a gangster, so he dives head first into this ... Read More

My husband and I saw this movie on cable and loved it. Bought it for him as part of his wedding anniversary gift. A nice addition to our home movie library.

Harry Whittington, author of over 200 novels during a lengthy career, with "Web Of Murder" the noirish thriller upon which this film is based appearing in 1958, is widely recognized as one of the more skillful plotmasters within the field of crime fiction and this production adheres to the basic structure of the original. The work is replete with wit, although the majority is not found within the mildly disjunctive scenario or from the, at times, somewhat languid direction of canny Bill Condon, but instead is centered within the moodily clever lighting and camerawork under supervision of Ron Murphy, along with the creative and droll costumes of Grania Preston. Murphy's fellow Australian Bryan Brown capably portrays Charlie Deegan, a rather unsavoury American defense attorney in love with his secretary Laura ... Read More
