VHS : Aladdin (A Walt Disney Classic)
I've loved this ever since I was a kid. I love the plot, and the direction. It's a classic! Aladdin is a poor kid who lives in the streets of Agrabah who has to steal to eat His friend is a monkey named Abu. Princess Jasmine is being forced to marry, so she runs away. She meets Aladdin and they begin to fall in love. Jafar needs Aladdin to go to the Cave of Wonders to retrieve a lamp. When Aladdin becomes stuck in the cave, he meets the hilarious Genie that dwells within the lamp. Aladdin gets three wishes. When he goes back to Agrabah, everyone thinks he's a prince, with the help of Genie. Jafar gets the lamp, and brings destruction to Agrabah. Aladdin must stop him before it's too late. I highly recommend ALADDIN!!!

VHS : Robin Williams - Live at the Met
This was an HBO special recorded at the Met in New York, and the always manic Robin Williams is in absolute top form on everything from gay football coaches to drug abuse. This tape is an absolute must for expectant parents as Williams in his unique and inimicable fashion relates going trhough pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood as only he can.

VHS : FernGully - The Last Rainforest
Having watched Fern Gully many years ago with my younger siblings, I purchased this DVD edition to watch with my preschooler. The story centers around Crysta, a tree elf who lives in a rain forest with her friends, consisting of other magical beings, and animals such as the radar-impaired Batty, the Beetle Boys etc. They find that their beloved rain forest is threatened by Man and must take the necessary steps to ensure its preservation.

The environmental message here is well-suited for little ones - it is not over the top and put forth in a fun way. The songs are fun: "Life is a Magic Thing", "Batty Rap", "If I'm Gonna Eat Somebody", "Toxic Love", "Land of a Thousand Dances". This DVD comes with both Widescreen and Fullscreen Versions, there are 8 set-top games & behind the ... Read More

This movie is top notch. True to life, with one exception, the mistress that Marshall had was a real bow wow!!!!!!!!!!!! Her father, Lester Glenn, in which this trial killed due to a broken heart, was the owner of a car dealership. Maria was beautiful, and Sarann was ugly, lets say howled at the moon!!!!!! The oldest son was on set as an advisor to the movie and made sure his mother story was told honestly, not like his low life father's attorney tried to protray her. I watched it then and would watch it again and again

I so totally disagree with all the glowing reviews. There was no suspense for me whatsoever! First off, the characters were types and were never fully developed, never even slightly developed actually. Ray Milland who is a great actor put on a smirkly fake I love you face at the start and left it at that. There was no way to hate him or love him, all you could do was try not to fall asleep. Grace Kelly was ok, but mostly just good looking. That guy who played her boyfriend reminded me of someone from a beach movie.

The plot was all wooden figures doing things.and then all of a sudden THE KEY, the key here the key there everywhere a key key, look the key oh no a key. I kid you not, that was the whole movie! This could have been a great movie if the characters had been fleshed out. If you could ... Read More

VHS : Aladdin and the King of Thieves (Disney Presents)
The big day has finally arrived. The entire kingdom has turned out for Aladdin (Scott Weinger) and Jasmine's (Linda Larkin) wedding. Thanks to the Genie (Robin Williams), it looks to be a spectacular day.

But then tragedy strikes. The 40 Thieves attack the wedding and try to steal just one present. Yes, that's right. But that present turns out to be an oracle that will answer one question. And through that oracle, Aladdin learns that his father is still alive.

What he doesn't realize is that his father, Cassim (John Rhys-Davies), is the leader of the thieves. The family reunion pits Aladdin against Sa'luk (Jerry Orbach) who isn't happy with the way that Cassim has been running the gang. How will Jasmine react to the identity of Aladdin's father? Can Aladdin reform his dad? And how many different ... Read More

This movie is, by far, one of my favorite movies of all time. It was so well written, directed and has some of the best actors (i.e. Robert Sean Leonard-Dr. Wilson himself!). Moving score as well. I hate to say this but it was because of this movie that I became interested in poetry. And I saw this at the movies when it came out in 1989. I was 20. I hadn't known what I was missing not reading poetry. Better late than never! Watch this movie, open your mind and you'll be pleasantly surprised! Peace.
