I saw this movie as a kid when it first came out and it scared me to death. It played on all my childhood fears (monsters in the closet, attacking trees, and creepy clowns!). As an adult, obviously it is not so scary but still well made, humorous at times, and entertaining. I liked it enough that I wanted to add it to our home movie collection to enjoy over and over. I recommend it to anyone who likes a good ghost story.

This wonderful film is based upon the short story, "Walk Well, My Brother", which appears in an anthology of short stories titled, "The Snow Walker", written by Canadian icon, Farley Mowat. The story takes place somewhere near the Artic in 1953 and opens with a shadowy figure traipsing slowly across a frozen wasteland. The film then flashes back to a time three months earlier in a settlement called "Yellow Knife", located somewhere in the Northwest Territories of Canada. A raucous sort of place, the viewer is introduced to a young and handsome, former World War II fighter pilot named Charles Halliday (Barry Pepper). He is a free living, arrogant, hot dogging young gun, who now flies over the frozen wastelands of the far north, working as a bush pilot for a man named Shepherd (James Cromwell). ... Read More

This movie has something for everyone. It's a story about two orphan brothers striving to get to a better life in Boy's Town, in Omaha Nebraska. It'll make you laugh, make you cry, inspire and uplift you. The best part is you can watch it with the whole family.

This funky bunch is better than his first funky bunch and this movie is hilarious and should be seen by any fan of Mr. Wahlberg.

Lou Diamond and the other two give a pretty standard performance for their careers. OWN IT!!!

VHS : American Psycho 2
This film is in stark contrast to the Original "American Psycho," which had good actors, story, and philosophical depth, whereas this so-called sequel was almost a complete waste. However, WILLIAM SHATNER has a big role in this film and therefore, this movie, (despite the fact that it's an insult to the original... poorly written, doesn't even have a remotely believable plot and is one of the crappiest movies of all time...) is still worth watching because, thanks to the Shat, it has cult appeal. Not the kind of cult appeal that the original has, no, but cult appeal nonetheless. Just do yourself a favor and watch this piece of crap when it comes free to on demand cable or something. Don't pay money for it Not even a dollar. You'd be better off buying a lottery ticket. I give this film two ... Read More

Since Dolly Parton is such an upbeat, playful persona, I only expected to have fun with this film. I was happily surprised by the integrity message that the film wraps up with. I also appreciated the cautionary note about turning one's major life decisions over to a talk radio (or television!) host who only has a few sound bites about your life.

...several scenes are highly unbelievable. Don't get me wrong, the movie has many delightful scenes as my wife would put it, but the following ones were a bit over the top.

I don't consider these spoilers, just wanted to list a few examples.

* A poker game so serious that the building they are playing in becomes inundated with floodwaters from a storm, so bad that the very table they are playing on begins to float...all while they continue to play???
* While getting lost in a snow storm, they end up hunkering around a tree all night, giving in to impending doom. While I realize that snow will act as a blanket from the freezing weather, thus probably saving their lives, I cannot believe that the very morning sun would melt all the snow around them before they awake???
