VHS : Waterloo Bridge
This remake of the 1931 filmed version of Robert Sherwood's play about the doomed romance of a WWI military officer and a streetwalker, is a classic tragic romance that sanitizes the original, but is distinguished by lovely performances and exquisite black and white cinematography. It is really a pitch perfect tearjerker for the period.

Vivien Leigh is heartbreaking as ballerina turned prostitute Myra, and if possible, even more beautiful than she was in GONE WITH THE WIND. Her acting in WATERLOO BRIDGE is a far cry from the exuberance, and bold colors of a Scarlett O'Hara. Myra's emotional palette is muted, but the shifts from melancholia, to hopefulness, to despair are done flawlessly and show Leigh's great range as an actress. Robert Taylor as Captain Cronin is a fine romantic ... Read More

VHS : James Bond 007 Collection Volume 3
Not a bad collection of Bond material, however, this is a mix of various Bond movies with a variety of leading Bond actors. I recommend looking into the 1996 Collections that have the videos in chronological order and primarily by actor. JAMES BOND 007 Collector's Set, Vol. 1 includes all six Broccoli-produced Sean Connery Bond films, to include a 1995 documentary video. JAMES BOND 007 Collector's Set, Vol 2 includes all seven Roger Moore films and Timothy Dalton's first film. Although these sets are out-of-print, they are still available as used and collector's sets through Amazon.com's Marketplace. If you're like most fans, you'd prefer to have the movies that include your own favorite "leading-Bond-man"!

Well as a former US Army Tanker, I am writing this from that view. I had the privilege of serving with good soldiers, who on one occassion watched this movie together, as a company. The critisicm never ended.
I do like the actors in this movie, but the background, tactics and overall unit organizations shown in this picture, were pitiful. I can understand the equipment that had to be used to film this picture, but the dialogue could of been much more based on military reality. I feel that all the sides protrayed in this picture were not done proper justice. They were protrayed as a bunch of amatuers, fighting a war, like hollywood amatuers playing at war. This picture was put together like a bunch of pix up stix, that were put up half way and forgotten.

Several years past his last Eon James Bond film finds Sean Connery hitting his stride. This was one of several truly memorable period pieces in that year or two (which included THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING and THE WIND AND THE LION). Great performances by Connery, Audrey Hepburn, Robert Shaw and Nicol Williamson. Also in a small part, Richard Harris as very mad Richard the Lionheart. A warm tale of love, aging with real chemistry between Connery and Hepburn. The end is a downer but it really had to be that way. No extras to speak of on this. One of Richard Lester's best films -- ranks with THREE & FOUR MUSKETEERS.

The TV picture was awesome. Lots of action with great action. What also really impressed me was the sound, If you are a World War II movie fan, then this is a must addition to your library.
I purchased this picture as a gift for my son who lives and works in Thailand. I was concerned that it wouldn't play on his Play Station 3 Japanese unit. FYI it worked just fine.

I actually loved this movie, and liked it more than part 1. Part one hsd s little too much screaming in it and the scenic views were not as awesome as part 2. Just an enjoyable and entertaining movie to watch.

"If a statesmen foresakes with private conscience for the sake of public office, he leads his county to a short route to chaos." Thomas More to Cardinal Wolsey regarding granting an unlaw divorce to King Henry VIII from his barren wife.

How great a country would America be if our Congress men and women had the courage of Thomas Moore.

Man for All Seasons is one of the greatest movies of all time. You will need a pen and paper nearby to write all the provoking line from Sir Thomas.

VHS : From Russia with Love
FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE while being the second in the series to DR. NO is the first in which the James Bond popular culture came to know and love makes his appearance and is often considered the best of them all. Sean Connery plays Bond a bit different from the character on the pages of Ian Fleming spy novels as well as turning in an improved performance over his previous effort in DR. NO. Connery made a Bond better fit for the screen, giving the character more personality, more charisma and humor than Fleming's buttoned-up, bland English gentleman spy. As one co-producer of the Bond films says,"We always start out trying to make another FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and end up with another THUNDERBALL". Well, THUNDERBALL is just another good Sean Connery Bond action film while FROM RUSSIA.. is film classic.
