Unfortunately my scenes were cut or you couldn't see me due to a tight shot. The movie was filmed in April when it was warm weather. You'll notice no smoke is coming out of people's mouth during the outdoor scenes. I think this was before they could Computer Graphic it in. I thought the movie was ok if you have nothing better to watch. It is better than "Junior". lol

VHS : Love Letters
This insanely romantic movie, fueled by Victor Young's repetitive but unforgettable love theme, has some of the same sort of overripe, unintentionally hilarious dialogue that makes "The Fountainhead" such an entertaining howler of a right wing melodrama, but Jones and Cotton, with their uniquely delicate emotional interplay, are an irresistable couple and their authenticity saves and sells the movie.

Though couched as a romantic melodrama (with elements borrowed from "Cyrano de Bergerac") Rand still manages to interlard some of her trademark loony political cant, mostly through the fey pronouncements of Cotton's old family retainer, Cecil Kellaway, a canny performer captured here at his most insincere. Rand's politics, with their weird blend of authoritarian longing and barely ... Read More

VHS : Massacre of Burkittsville 7: Blair Witch Leg
This tape is actually two seperate pieces that originally appeared on television: The Massacre of the Burkittsville Seven (Made for Showtime), and The Blair Witch Legacy (Made for The Sci-Fi Channel). Massacre explores the Rustin Parr killings, and is by far the better of the two features. It fits well with the documentary-like feel of the first Blair Witch movie, and provides some really chilling insights into the events of that movie. I think it would even be effective on it's own. The Blair Witch Legacy doesn't stack up as well, playing more like what it really is: A long informercial for Book of Shadows. It, too, adds to the moviegoing experience, but since it originally aired before Book of Shadows was released, it tries too hard not to spoil the movie's surprises. Overall, it's a worthwhile viewing experience, ... Read More

VHS : Divorcee (1930)
"The Divorcee" is a movie that risks a lot and rewards us with much more. The movie tackles some big issues in a most frank way, at least for 1930. Had the movie been made a few years later, we would have seen a vastly different picture.

Most people have only heard of this movie, few have seen it. Film buffs have only know the movie as "that one Norma Shearer won the Oscar for". But it is a little more than that.

The movie looks at double-standards in society. Jerry (Shearer) and Ted (Chester Morris) are young and in love. They surprise everyone at a pasrty when they announce they are going to be married. This news especially upsets Paul (Conrad Nagel) whom had planned to marry Jerry himself.

Three years later, while celebrating their anniversary Jerry discovers that Ted had an affair, ... Read More

Should actually only be a 2 1/2 * rating ...

I recommend just reading the books about him because this film is too constrained. The film shows "representational scenes" of his life. Panzram did numerous acts of violence throughout his life, far more severe than the scenes show. The movie makes it look more like a guy that sometimes had a difficult time controlling himself. The madness of his life cannot even begin to be felt from this film.

This film is too limiting for such subject matter.

I had seen this film in two different Media classes in college, and fell in love with it. I'm so glad I was able to find it on Amazon, and the vendor I bought it from was prompt in getting it to me. The product was unopened, which made it that much better of a purchase--because I got to unwrap it, in order to watch it. Thanks very much.

I agree with everything that's been said, and I'd also look to mention the completely lack of conflict within the movie. It's amazing, there's almost nothing to work against, and very little tension. Maybe it's because we know now that space flight was possible, but it's still amazing to see a movie about the moon landing where the plotline is: We wanted to go the moon, we trained to go the moon, and then we landed on the moon. There's about five minutes there where it looks like James Caan isn't going to find the docking station on the moon and die from a lack of oxygen...but then he turns around, and oh yeah! There it is! Just behind me.

Totally different style, but the only other movie I can think of like this is "Payback," where Mel Gibson just kind of walks in and starts kicking .... He never gets capture, never gets put in trouble, ... Read More

Obviously this is an excellent epic! The DVD quality was average, the first DVD was not quite crisp in reception as you would expect in an average DVD. Perhaps this may have been due to VHS to DVD conversion. I was expecting a digitally remastered copy which this wasn't. Overall the DVD set was excellent value!
