I love this movie. I haven't seen it in years and I am dismayed to learn that it isn't available on DVD yet. This is one of the best teen movies I have ever seen. It's sweet, honest, funny and kind.

Please release Angus on DVD soon powers that be. Thanks!

VHS : Rags to Riches
For the 25 yrs I've been alive no movie has ever touched my heart like Rags to Riches. When I was a little girl, I would go to my grandmother's house and I would try to remember to bring the movie from home so my cousin and I could watch it. At the time, Ash and I were the only girls of our generation and having no other siblings of my own (brothers/sisters) it was like watching the show with the sister I never had. We loved the movie so much we memorized all the songs and would always sing them together. Now at age 25 and it being near Christmas I wanted to do something special for both Ash and I, I was planning to buy the movie on DVD and surprise her, plus buy one for my mother and I as well, but I was painfully hurt when I found out amazon did not have the movie in stock. We are in a time ... Read More

VHS : Zenon - The Zequel - Disney Channel Original Movie
I've watched this movie SO many times back when it aired on Disney, and I've watched its predecessor and successor as well. It's obviously a Disney movie, made for the 8-to-15 age range, but for someone like me who's into space exploration and future technologies, the movie surpasses the age barrier. It obviously has some pitfalls for older viewers, particularly the that's-too-easy plot line and some of the more embarrassing catch-phrases that the writers created for use as "space slang," but there are also some fantastic space elements in the movie. The costumes used are AWESOME -- I wish that stuff were in fashion, because I'd be wearing it everywhere. The space station sets are futuristic in a realistic sort of way that makes you think, "If I had to imagine what a space station would look like in 50 ... Read More

VHS : Christmas Box
This wonderful family values oriented film really isn't a Christmas story (but yes, inbedded in the plotline is, of course, the "Christmas Box"). Without once again retelling the story (other reviewers have done that nicely), I'll just add my take . . .

This is a story about loneliness, workaholism, generosity, grief, love and family (both by birth and by association). A made for TV film, but is very, very well produced and executed. Rich sets and scripting. Great photography. Great direction.

The casting is right on. In my opinion, Richard Thomas can only play one character -- but that works in this film where he is the sensitive but ambitious and busy Richard Evans (Husband & Dad). Annette O'Toole (Evans' kinder and gentler side)and Kelsy Mulrooney function as Mom and ... Read More

Growing up, I used to watch this movie every time it came on Disney. Until 2003 it had never been released for retail purchase. I looked for it for years, and was thrilled when they finally started releasing some of the Grable classics. It's a great musical and the songs will stick with you forever. I've recently heard rumors that it is going to be released on DVD sometime in 2008.

This is a true story of Dannion Brinkley's life changing events. It takes the viewer through changes from his former angry, mean-spirited self, whose anger was visited upon everyone who came near him, to the day he was hit by lightning, causing death/near-death experiences, and a long road back to life. The life he finds he must live afterward, however is that of a changed man. He is truly touched by a transforming 'power' which he uses to build a new life, sharing his message with others. Eric's portrayal brought all the emotions one might imagine into the film. The depths of both sides of this personality were brought forth skillfully by Eric Roberts. The complications during his rehabilitation show the unexpected consequences of such life-changing events. The story is true, and I have heard Dannion speak numerous ... Read More

I've watched this film at least 50 times over the years. Steve McQeen, Robert Vaughn and the rest of the cast are stellar. The direction and driving stunts were brilliant .

VHS : Shake Hands With the Devil
James Cagney made according my personal opinion, a tour de force performance and his most superb artistic achievement, personifying the leader of IRA. Through the innocent gaze of a naïve student who sudden and accidentally becomes involved in rebel activities, Cagney will exert on him a spelling influence but gradually he will realize the core of the human being behind the mask: a murderous fanatic.

A ravishing jewel of Michael Anderson, one of the best and remarkable British filmmakers ever.
