"High Road to China" is a classic. It had a great cast and good directing. The movie had action, adventure, comedy, danger, romance, and history. Tom Selleck is at his best. Bess Armstrong gives a stellar performance; as do Jack Weston, Wilford Brimley, et al. As with his movies, T.S's presence on the silver screen, doesn't overpower the other actors/actresses. It is a crime against good films not to view it, let alone not to own it !

This is a good action film. Lots of fun. I was the Location Manager on this picture and we made two moves while filming. WE shot about half the film in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the other half in Tucson, AZ. Believe it or not, when Treat William jumps out of the plane, he actually lands on Mt. Lemmon here in Tucson. I had lots of fun working on it and I think it turned out really good. If you like older, action films with lots of humor, you will like the film. Something to look for...The rapids were in Jackson and when they went over the falls, that was actually done...with doubles, of course. Also, we rented the Baseball Padres 727-100 and I had to get permission from the FAA to open the back so he could jump out. You will have fun with this film and I recommend it highly.

I loved westerns since I was a kid. John Wayne was king for me when it came to the western genre. I believe two new stars have risen on the frontier; Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott. They both have made several movies and everyone of them John Wayne would watch, if he could, and enjoy.

The Sea Of Grass has a great cast headed by Tracy & Hepburn in their only western together. Unfortunately it's more of a drama than a western and may seem a bit slow to western fans. Also their romance is strained throughout which may seem odd to Tracy/Hepburn fans, but won't disappoint in the long-run. The plot chiefly concerns how her one-time indiscretion strains the marriage and disrupts the family, particularly the effects on their son, fathered outside the marriage by Melvyn Douglas. The Six Million Dollar Man plays The man of Steel. How perfect is that?! This movie took a place in Lee Majors' actual home town Kentucky. It was reported that they used actual under the construction building (Kincaid Tower) at the time and build the set on top roof of Eastern Kentucky University building for the shooting. This was not critically claimed nor big box office hit, and yet it is the one of the best action drama Majors ever produced and stared. Steel surely shines in his life long acting career.
