I am 39 and I viewed this movie on TV in 1979 and found it tobe one of my favorite movies of all time.

I had the good fortune of being an extra in this movie, and I went to school with Bobbie Gentry's two sisters, knew her grandparents and have met Bobbie on more than one occasion. The song was fiction, as was the movie. It was not a true story as many people have said. It's a haunting movie, with good performances, especially Robby. I enjoyed working with him on this movie for over a week and watching him as a professional. I have always felt he was an underrated actor, and he has gone on to be quite successful as a director. When we made the movie, we never thought it would have such a long life, but it has. It lives on, and I think that is a testament to the good performances and Bobbie's wonderful song.

Opened my eyes of my heart to the Jewish way of life with more understanding of traditions and beliefs. How I appreciate these types of filming. We need more of them.

This is such a perfect portrait of people I have known who have built emotional moats around their castle of humanity.... Lemmon's character is commited to having no commitment...So busy loving the world he is unable to totally love those who to whom he is closest. Watch this film with friends and I guarentee you will have one of the greatest discussions you have ever had about all of the implications...A totally human film Great Song by Barry Manlow heard over the credits sums up the whole idea of the film...

All I have to say is Jennifer Tilly is a riot in this film as the arrogant Meranda Webber who tries to create the perfect man. The way she goes about it you just won't believe. It's too bad that this film is out of print. But if you run across it, grab it. It's a wild party on video. I love this movie. By the way the rest of the cast is awesome too.

As the title indicates, my mother-in-law highly recommended this movie, so my wife and I gave it a try. It's a mystery with one unpredictable turn after another. Starring Audrey Hepburn as the sweet, blind but intelligent and crafty Suzie Hendrix; Richard Crenna as the reluctant con artist/thief; and Alan Arkin as the sinister master of disguise Harry Roate. The progression of the film reminds me of my favorite Alfred Hitchcock film ROPE (starring Jimmy Stewart). The climactic plot twist reminded me most of M. Night Shyamalan's first three popular films (back when he made good movies). The acting is pretty good, but not what I would call Oscar-worthy (with sincere apologies to Audrey Hepburn fans). Calling this movie terrible is an understatement. Who the heck is Robbie Benson? Judging by this movie, in which he stars, co writes, co produces and composes it's all too obvious why you haven't heard of him. The 'barber shop' folk song at the beginning will have you ejecting your lunch, you almost wish Jason Voorhees would show up and hack him to pieces. I've seen a lot of lousy movies in my time. This ranks as one of the worst.
