This movie is so wonderful. I loved it when it originally came out in the early 90's then redisovered it after my own father passed away. This movie should be released to DVD and for all of those who missed it I'm sad for you this movie has all the right punch; comedy, darkness, and drama. If you get the chance watch this movie you will be so glad you did.

VHS : Limbo
God love and protect John Sayles. Not because he hits every ball out of the park, because he clearly doesn't; but because he never lets his few strikeouts compel him to try to hit a five-run homer the next time out. In an era marked by increasingly degraded and degrading notions of "entertainment" and "storytelling" - for pity's sake, as I write this, grown adults are waxing rhapsodic over a movie about a costumed billionaire-vigilante (!!) - Sayles understands that great drama is about the people we meet every day; the places we live in and how they shape us; the things that change, and the things that remain; and above all, about the human heart in conflict with itself. In LIMBO, he takes risks with his zig-zagging narrative most filmmakers simply aren't capable of, and reaps rewards of such ... Read More

VHS : Wait Till Your Mother Gets Home
Glaser does a convincing job as a dad and school football coach. His bemusement at the start of the movie about how his stay-at-home-mom wife never seemed to get on top of the homemaker job transforms into a new respect for her when, outside his control, he loses his job and his wife gets offered one of her own. It takes about 24 hours on his new job as stay-at-home-DAD for everything to fall apart around him.
Each job switch gives each spouse a new perspective and respect for the other. It's not just a "husband wakes up movie".
GREAT family viewing, especially for any family where there is a stay-at-home-mom working hard to keep the show together.
Funny throughout. Great for all ages- no guns, violence or foul language. I can't believe it's not on Netflix or Blockbuster.

VHS : Coming Home
Coming Home is a sensitive portrayal of three people and how their lives were changed by the war in Vietnam. Look for wonderful acting by Jane Fonda who had to contend with a script that was not exactly the best I've ever seen; and Jon Voight does an excellent job playing the role of Luke Martin, a Vietnam vet who was badly wounded in combat. Bruce Dern plays Capt. Bob Hyde with a lot of style; all the actors do their best in this film. The script fails to flesh out the depth of the characters and the movie held my attention although there were some slow moments along the way.

When the action begins, we meet Sally Hyde (Jane Fonda) and her soon to go to war Marine husband Bob Hyde (Bruce Dern). We also soon meet Sally's friend Vi Munson who is ably portrayed by Penelope Milford. Bob is eager to ... Read More

It's hard for me to explain how much of an impact this film had on me. It is one of the most dreamlike experiences that I have ever had in a theatre. The first two hours of the film seem to follow a narrative -- and then there are the last 40 minutes, which will just blow you away if you have never seen this film before. After repeated viewings, I think that I have my own interpretation. The beauty of this film is that you can attach your own ideas to it, thus involving you in what goes down on the screen. It's laced with both horror and mystery, and filled to the brim with dream logic.

Totally captivating and beautiful to look at, this is a true work of art. The best time to view this film would be late in the evening, with the curtains drawn, in the dark. It's frightening, to be sure, but entirely worth ... Read More

Calling this movie terrible is an understatement. Who the heck is Robbie Benson? Judging by this movie, in which he stars, co writes, co produces and composes it's all too obvious why you haven't heard of him. The 'barber shop' folk song at the beginning will have you ejecting your lunch, you almost wish Jason Voorhees would show up and hack him to pieces. I've seen a lot of lousy movies in my time. This ranks as one of the worst.

All I have to say is Jennifer Tilly is a riot in this film as the arrogant Meranda Webber who tries to create the perfect man. The way she goes about it you just won't believe. It's too bad that this film is out of print. But if you run across it, grab it. It's a wild party on video. I love this movie. By the way the rest of the cast is awesome too.
