VHS : Think Big
I absolutely love this movie.......it's been a while since i've seen it. I think i'm going to buy it, and watch it again. My nephew and I used to sit and watch it, when I worked in a video store.....It would just play all day long..........We just bought a puppy in October, and I went to the pet store and bought a toy called, "THE CHICKEN BONE". My dog now knows this toy as, "CHICKEN BONE, CHICKEN BONE, LUCKY, LUCKY, CHICKEN BONE" He'll pick it up, and bring it to you!!!!! Some things you just never forget...............

VHS : Moonraker
It's hard for me to argue with people who hate Moonraker. It is the most cartoonish of all the Bond movies reaching its peak of silliness right off the bat with Jaws, returning from The Spy Who Loved Me, surviving a freefall from an airplane. The absurdity is made all the more tragic in that it follows one of, if not the most spectacular Bond opening in the entire series. Moonraker is a movie with sky high highlights and some pretty bad lowlights. The pre-credit sequence with Bond being shoved from an airplane sans parachute is thrilling and leads into the spectacular Moonraker theme sung by Shirley Bassey. This movie may have the best musical score of any of the Bond movie and that is no small feat.

Moonraker was created by some of the most talented people ever to work on the Bond films. ... Read More

VHS : Bond: Spy Who Loved Me
Of all the Bonds this is the most curiously overrated. While the later Moores are rightly regard as weak -- this one has its share of passionate defenders. I'm not really sure why. Though entertaining, it's slick and frankly a little shallow. It makes the prior two in the series seem positively naturalistic by comparison. Marvin Hamlish's self-conscious, obnoxious musical pastiches are dreadful -- they take you right out of the movie. Barbara Bach is robotic in what could have been an effective female lead. (I hate to say all this as Sir Roger in his charming commentary track says this is his favorite and I'm grateful that he recorded these.)

VHS : Force 10 From Navarone
I had seen the original release from 1978 on VHS tape from my library. One day I was at Wal-mart and saw it in the $5.00 bin, so I bought it. Finally I coulkd enjoy a digitally remastered version of the film instead of a grany VHS. I was also suprised and happy to find that the remastered version cut out some of Walters (Carl Weathers) dumb lines. Like the part where they ate placing explosives down on the road and the kinda look like dog crap and Walters says something to the extent of: " I thought you were supposed to pick up dog crap, not spread it around" and after the explosives blow he said "Man that's some powerful dog doo." Thankfully those lines were removed and now it has a bit more of a war movie feel instead of a war-comedy feel.

All in all it's a good movie, not a great as Saving Private Ryan or Where ... Read More

VHS : The Nutty Professor
In a performance reminiscent of Peter Sellers in `Dr. Strangeglove,' Eddie Murphy turns in a tour de farce in `The Nutty Professor.' This was a film I had intended to see for a decade and I was certainly not disappointed when I finally rented it. Murphy provides a charming performance as shy, gentlemanly fat man, Prof. Sherman Klump. One cannot help rooting for the 400-pound professor to woo foxy grad student Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett Smith), rather than egomaniacal alter ego Buddy Love. Larry Miller is also fun as the smiling but malevolent Dean Richmond a type role he has played several times before. Of course the special effects wowed audiences in 1991 and they are still quite impressive. I haven't seen the 1963 Jerry Lewis version and pray I never have to, but I doubt that it had the charm of this production. Pinkett Smith ... Read More

VHS : Giant of Thunder Mountain
This is a very good heart warming story of not judging a book by its cover. The cast is top notch and Richard Kiel was great. The supporting cast is a great mix of faces you'll immediately recognize and new faces you'll look forward to seeing again. I bought this for my kids and they just loved it. A very good movie and I reccommend it to anyone looking for good family entertainment.
