I wasn't sure how to review this one, so let's just say it was a bit of a chore. I have seen the gags and this film many times and yet it retains the charm i've always loved about it. Much cleaner than today's "toilet humor" films (which gross me no end, by the way but I digress), at the very least the former Saturday Night Live guys let us sneak a peak in the life of Steve's character, a introverted businessman who only has one passion: his wife and kids. His frustration with the airport, with the taxi (surprise appearance by Kevin (the goblin) Bacon) and one thing after another that we travellers can relate to, at first he resents, hates, and then comes to admire (and somewhat smarmy sympathize) with Candy's character, a curtain ring salesman who, despite major losses in his life latches ... I saw this movie, on opening day, in Tucson, Arizona. I remember it like yesterday. I was skating with my best friends, outside the theatre, and I broke my board, doing a trick. I was heartbroken and the movie cured me but it made me want to skate even more... What a great time to grow up! A fantastic movie and an instant classic for my generation.

I had never seen this film but I thought it might be worthwhile because of the writer, director and cast. I have to say that this is one of the best law enforcement movies I've ever seen. I highly recommend this film to anyone interested in true life police / crime dramas.

There were too many edited scenes that made this purchase a non value.
1. When driving to the beach, an edited car scene.
2. When arriving at the first beach house, an edited upstairs foyer scene.
3. When in the first beach house, the dog chewing on the sofa leg and the collapse of the sofa.
4. The fabulous boobs scene.
All these scenes were cut out, and when combined, they only add a minute or so longer to the movie.

This was a good film, though it certainly does not approach its predecessor, Prince of Egypt. The songs are decent, and the animation is very good. The characterizations of the Egyptians are more developed than Genesis, but most of the Istraelites do not show even their Biblical individuality. I liked it, but if you really want a good Joseph movie for the kids, consider Joseph and the Amazing Techinicolor Dreamcoat first.

Actually, I am looking for the original 6 hour mini-series from 1988.

The 2 hour VHS I bought didn't quite measure up.

Do you know how I get a hold of the original 6 hours mini series from 1988 ?

Thanks,

The China Syndrome (Special Edition)
Yet another movie from my Dad's collection. Not only is this movie one of the hardest hitting warnings about modern science, but one of the most entertaining thrillers which I have seen. Jane Fonda, is on the campaign trail again, this time, playing, Kimberly Wells, a budding TV reporter, who's desperate for the chance of that BIG SCOOP. Jack Godell (superbly played by Jack Lemmon), is worried that, the operations, at the cooling system, at the Ventana Nuclear Plant, have been, jeopardised by the falsification of construction reports. He fears that the plant, might not, contain itself, in an emergency, bringing about a melt-down and, theoritically, burning clear through the earth to China. Michael Douglas, produced the movie, and is excellent as the arrogant young ... Read More

VHS : The Secretary
Dull and boring suspense tale that is strapped with cliché. Mel Harris stars as a businesswoman who begins a new job and is introduced to the office secretary (Sheila Kelley) who not only desires Harris's new job, she desires her life. I have seen other movies from the small series of suspense films produced by Pierre David and was expecting much more than this lame, slow-moving feature that delivers nothing more than some fine performances. Everything is too depressing to make the film exciting, and when we think something thrilling is about to happen, we get nothing more than a change to the next scene. This film is a waste of time. Some people may fancy it, but I am one person who likes a fast-paced thriller, and not thrillers like this.
