VHS : Phantasm II
Yes I consider this sequel to be even better than the first film, Phantasm 2 continues right after the first film ended and it never stops it has more action, blood and gore and it also has a faster pace. It seems like Don Coscarelli had a bigger budget and the same dark atmosphere is still there but it seems to be alot more fun this time around and it is possibly the best 80's horror sequel out there, only two cast members returned Angus Scrimm as The Tall Man and Reggie Bannister as Reggie, the original actor who played Mike did not return instead hes played by James LeGros some blond guy who was O.K. I guess. For the last 8 years of his life Mike Pearson (James LeGross) has been in a mental institution after the horrible events that happened in the past including the death of his older brother ... I enjoyed this movie very much and will watch it off and on over the years! Had some dramatic/scary moments, but nothing that we havent all seen at one time or another. I was glad to get this at a bargain along with some other classics here at Amazon. For a very good, fairly light gore, interesting and entertaining, horror flick, check this baby out!!!

VHS : Silent Night Deadly Night 4
I have just completed my second time around with this movie. It took me a year to watch it again, with some friends from the original showing, and some new faces. It was worse than I remember, and the second worse movie I have ever encountered, and I find them for fun. Every other SNDN movie (which I own the collection) has some entertaining value, most of which is just the outrageous badness of them all, but this movie is on another level of its own. Tonight I took my copy and threw it out a second floor window and burned the remains. Stay far away from this movie if you know what's good for you.

**SPOILERS**

Phantasm IV just might be my favorite film of all time, and I'd like to explain why I adore it so much and feel that, in every sense, it IS a fitting end to the series, and that it leaves NO questions unanswered.

This series has always been a riddle, always an enigma, and the answers are as difficult to see when they're right in front of you as perhaps the destination of one of the Tall Man's dimensional forks.

I'm sure everyone has a theory of what was meant or implied by a lot of the events of Phantasm IV, and here's my personal take that I strongly believe in, so much so that when I watch part IV, it brings tears to my eyes, every time, without fail.

A lot of people get confused by the "contradictory" flashback scenes that depict different events ... Read More

I am a huge fan of these movies and the first Phantasm was one of only a few movies that ever scared me back in the day. First off the four stars instead of five is due to a slight confusion I had following the story. Of course, all loose ends are tied up in Phantasm IV. Where I would love to give this at least four and a half stars is the return of A. Michael Baldwin to the cast!!! This is another great Don Coscarelli film with plenty of gore, the Hemi Cuda (which deserves a film credit to itself), and plenty of flying spheres to shake a stick at. If you like the Phantasm series and haven't seen this one or haven't seen it in a long time I suggest giving it a gander.

I watched this and the others in the series a few times. I love the originality of the Jinn, the special effects, the script and even the humourous moments. (Gotta love "reggie" from Phantasm playing a store pharmacist and how funny it is to watch him with the bum he keeps telling to get away from the front of his store. LOL) Overall this is original and rich enough to watch more than once. Plus, I do not think the director and writers intended it to be oscar material, but to be the best for what it was supposed to be, a unique tale on the Jinn and the antics of the characters.
