It has been a while since I have seen this film and I am little surprised that it seems to be out of print. I recommend this to anyone who wants to see a story of faith in action in the face of overwhelming odds.

VHS : The Burning Season - The Chico Mendes Story
My only reason for seeing this film is because Luis Guzman is in it.
Raul Julia plays "Chico Mendes" who tried to save his people in the Amazon Rainforest. A story that needed to be told, but this film is overlong and slow-moving.
I do believe the rainforests should be saved and destroying them should be stopped.
Instead of decreasing them the forests should be expanded.
The rainforests are beneficial to our weather. Their is wildlife there and flowers used for medical research and medicine that can not be found anywhere else.
What would happen if land was just roads, concrete, buildings and dessert. I think if a patch of unhistoric dessert is bare, just plant trees there. It would look nicer than a vacant lot. it is trees that tranform our air ... Read More

VHS : The Alamo - Thirteen Days To Glory
Yes, this has faults, many glaring. But it was created for the Texas Sesquicentennial celebration and was aired during the time of year of the battle (if I remember correctly). It was made to be entertaining and appeal to the young people (Alex Baldwin; the young lovers-the girl was played by a former Miss Texas, I think; the marvelous Raul Julia, who practically stole the show), who have to study Texas history twice before they graduate there. As a fifth-generation native Texan (currently exiled in Georgia) I love the Alamo story and its various conflicting legends, understanding that because of the veil of history and the way that Santa Ana tried to obliterate the battle site we may never know the entire truth of the matter. What we can know are certain specifics. The actors portraying Bowie and ... Read More

VHS : Presumed Innocent
The beginning of 90's was full of court dramas and murder thrillers. This is a very good combination of both, which means it will attract the fans of both genres. A very good movie with a surprise ending. One of the best movies of both Harrison Ford and the legendary Alan J. Pakula. Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Ford) is assigned to investigate the murder of a woman he had an affair with. All evidences are against him. Framed Sabich is desperate to reveal the real killer...so are the viewers! But believe me the ending will surpass all your expectations and anticipations. Charming Scacchi and the beautifully shot love scenes add so much to the film. Do not hurry to presume...

Superb script with faultless acting. Having seen this film before (on cable), I decided to see it again in the Blu-Ray, Hi-Def version. It really blew me away. It is impossible to decide whether Raul Julia (sorely missed)or William Hurt gave the best performance. They were both mesmerizing. Watching the subtle changes in character as the film progressed was such an acting "Tour De Force". Who needs blockbuster movies loaded with CGI special effects when you can be spellbound by two extremely gifted actors that grab your attention and don't let it go. Get this without delay. You will be treated to something very rare in today's films. Quality script, direction and acting.

Oh how I wish this was available on DVD and - even better - remastered.

I was looking for a DVD version because my VHS copy is tired. I bought it used many years ago and I rarely play it because I'm afraid it will go the way of all my other VHS tapes - munched by the player, or just worn out.

I've nothing to add to the other reviews, really. My only previous exposure to the Threepenny Opera had been through performances of the music completely out of context and I was thrilled when I recognized the songs in the movie. But if you get a chance to view this, please do.

It really is marvelously entertaining.

If you're a Mel Gibson fan, don't miss this movie. It's his sexiest movie ever and, for the male population, Michele Pfeiffer is in it too and how! It's not just steamy, it's really hot!

This movie is pretty good and underrated. The best part of pretty much the whole movie is Jenny Lewis. She's pretty good in this. I'm watching this movie right now. Beverly D'Angelo and Raul Julia are pretty good too. One of the best lines is "Tomorrow is the beginning of the rest of your life". I also like the scene on the beach. The bar scene where Julia "accidently" ripped off D'Angelo's clothes was pretty hilarious. The setting goes good for 1957 in Florida as well.In fact, It's so good, I'm just gonna stop writing this review right now so I can get back to watching it. Recommended. It's not on DVD yet and may never be, so if you can find a copy, get it!

10.Tango Bar starring: Raul Julia

VHS : Tango Bar
This is about the sexiest tango movie I've seen. TANGO is good, but TANGO BAR is better. The Argentine dance sequences are good but some of the stage lighting are a bit too stark. The women are gorgeous and sexy. There is a thin plot about two guys loving the same woman, but the history of tango shown in film clips is what makes this movie great. Especially Charlie Chaplin's tango! The dance sequences are well done, although I don't care for tango ballet. If you dance the tango you'll enjoy this movie all the more. (Raul Julia is a piano player and doesn't dance much. Who cares?)
