VHS : Risky Business (1983)
One of the real gems of this new 25th Anniversary DVD set is "The Dream is Always the Same": The Story of Risky Business. This documentary provides great insight into all the hurdles Risky Business encountered on its way to the silver screen, with interviews with all the main cast members and Paul Brickman.

The other great addition to this 80's classic is the original ending that Paul Brickman wanted the audience to see in the film. The original ending, as shot by Brickman, had Joel Goodsen being shown as the strong one and Lana the weak one. However, the studios wanted a happier ending and changed it before it was sent to theaters.

I have 3 boys 8,5, and 3 and this is a favorite with each of them as they grew up!! My little one is really nuts about this movie. I love the music and the catchy tunes. I am continually amazed by Christopher Plummer who is the voice of Barnaby... he is just one of the best. I grew up loving him in the Sound of Music and now his talent is being enjoyed by my boys. It takes a real talent to pull off the Barnaby character. Don't pass this up!!!!

Don't waste your time on this film, it dosen't deserve it. Taking all the dramatic brilliance of Tennessee Williams writing, and reducing it to typical Made-For-TV drama. Please, if you can find ANYTHING else to do with your time (nails under your finger nails, whatever)do that instead.

I saw this movie on TV years ago, and I was very impressed with the concept of comodoties.Unfortunately with power and money also comes responsibilities, but wasn't expecting murder. Two years ago, I saw a small article in the local newspaper that said that people have seen Ron Levin(the guy that Joe had killed) at restaurants and at the theatre. People claim that he was a con artist and that he faked his own death to put Joe away for life.

VHS : My Man Adam
I remember seeing this movie when it was released in 1985, and I really liked it then, but I wasn't sure if I still would because I never saw it broadcast on TV throughout the years. I was lucky to be able to find a new copy of this movie, and I must say that I still enjoy this movie! It's a little different from some of the other movies that were released in the '80s. Adam is a 17 year old high school student who daydreams a lot, and one day witnesses a murder. With the help of his friend Leroy, he is able to face the fear and realize his dreams at the same time. The movie tends to go off in tangents with a lot of scenes of Adam's daydreams. There are so many of them, that they tend to interupt the flow of the plot. Even with all of this, this movie is still entertaining, especially if you love ... Read More

VHS : Back to Hannibal: The Return of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn
I recently ran across a passle of these hear videos at the local retail store, and being a fan of Tom and Huck movies, I picked on up. One good thing about the switch to DVD, the producers of VHS videos are clearing house! While I would rather have these movies on DVD, many aren't available in that format, such as Back To Hannibal, so this sudden drop in VHS prices has been really helpful. Now this movie is basically what Hook was to Peter Pan. We get to see what happened to Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn after they grew up. The plot deals with Tom and Huck joining forces again and returning to their hometown to help their old friend Jim beat a murder wrap. Not unlike when Tom helped old Muff Potter as a kid. I guess that's where they got the idea of making Tom grow up to be a lawyer. This is one of the things ... Read More
