This is one of the best films I've ever seen. There are two main types of science fiction, one trying to extrapolate real possibilites of existinc science with a taste for adventure. The other is an exploration of mankind from within using science fiction as a background. The first type is fun, but over time it becomes the "Buck Rogers", the "Jules Verne Steampunk" stuff. The second type is usually not well recieved at its time, but becomes classic over the years, "The Time Machine" by Wells, for example. "Star Maker" by Stapledon. "Exile of the Aeons" a short story by A.C. Clarke. The story lives on long after when it was written and the 'ill thought super-science' becomes more real and a not to distant possibility.

This movie is not as bad as many fo the no budget made to video on video tape movies that you see in the video stores. It's supposed to be taking place in the 1950's but it's hard to tell because the clothes and cars are from 1980 the year this movie was made. It was made on a shoestring budget and it's a bad movie but if you like bad horror movies and many of them are , then this isn't the worst movie of all time. I believe it was directed by jean rollin who is a french director under a different name. This is a FRENCH HORROR MOVIE not a italian one.
He makes alot of french horror films that usually feature vampires. Jean did the best he had with no budget and it does however have the great late howard vernon in this movie. He graced many a low budget horror flick and whatever he's ... Read More

A film of style that keeps its feet on the ground. The themes were based around the police department in the Paris of the early 80's. There are some really delicate moments mixed into the hardships of a couple trying to survive their alternate lifestyle on the streets as they become caught between the vengeance of other criminals and the law. Beats the pants off 90% of the US cop movies out there

This is a wonderful, subtly deep romantic comedy about a group of film makers and fashion designers in Paris. With interesting, fully developed characters, no violence and real sex, it is the kind of thing Hollywood would remake poorly (e.g., compare Abre Los Ojos with Vanilla Sky) if they could--but they can't. Abortion, infidelity, "feminism" vs. "misogyny," the craving for recognition and fame--and their difference from the search for true art and love are all handled with a most delicate touch.
