I knew when I read the back of the DVD what I was in for with this movie. To make things short, this is an almost scene for scene remake of "The Flesh and the Fiends" film also marketed as "Psycho Killers" "Mania" or "The Fiendish Ghouls". Those who have compared this to a "Hammer" film, may be interested to know that Hammer regular actor Peter Cushing played the main character role (Dr. Knox in this version instead or Dr. Rock) and also it also started Donald Pleasance of Halloween fame. Interestingly enough although these films have a kind or Frankenstein feel to them, they are based on the true story of the William Burke and William Hare Case of Scotland (1827 - 28). Although I prefer the Peter Cushing version, This was not a bad movie, I purchased mostly just for comparative reasons, ... Read More

VHS : Mannequin
I thought they never would put out Mannequin2 on DVD, then it came in a set. The first one is great about a mannequin coming to life at nights and falling in love with the male window dresser. The second one has a different actress and leading man... not as good.

Not only is Harry Williams a great singer, he has great acting skills.
This movie does wonders for the soul. It is rich of life and laughter.
It is one of the first musicals that had a semi-black cast.

This is going to be one of my harshest reviews of a product on Amazon.

I was rather stunned to discover that this is nothing more than the proverbial home-made tape recording. Horrible black-and-white quality, no better than a poor kinescope. There is no packaging, no copyright, no professional labels, nothing. This is a 5-dollar tape with 33+-dollar price tag. The word "screw" comes to mind. Avoid buying this product.

I have submitted a complaint to Amazon about this product. Again, it's not in color, it's a home-made video, and it is not an ABC-TV studio product (unless ABC changed its name to Mad Phat).

O.K. Anyone that knows of Russ Myers work (faster, kill, etc) this is a great flick, Well, we know Russ was a Breast man. And the openess of the late 60's & 70's shows in his films. Bad effects, bad acting, and cheesey plots to get people naked. "pizza Delivery" "Did someone call for a Plumber to clean her pipes?" LOL.
Just roll with it,. Show your 17+ year old what we call pornographic for the time,. If you can find a copy in BETA, and a player, like I saw it in '74 or sometime..

VHS : Sizzle
"SIZZLE" is a roaring twenties era film. A 1981 made for TV movie starring: Loni Anderson of "WKRP in Cincinnati" fame. She plays cabaret singer that decides to transform herself into a "Gun Moll" for a local mobster. It is a very similar role she played in the in the 1991 TV movie when she plays the gun moll THELMA TODD in "White Hot... The Mysterious Murder of Thelma Todd" Both are period piece romance thrillers set in the 1920's & 30's. The two films are great companions to each other. SIZZLE has a well known a cast TV movie regulars. It is a lesser known film than "THELMA TODD" but equally enjoyable. Loni has never looked better and her 20's costuming. "SIZZLE" is a fictional story. While "THELMA TODD" is based on the real life movie actress who got caught up in a scandalous relationship with ... Read More

VHS : History Is Made at Night
History is Made at Night is a fine romantic film with a good cast. Jean Arthur stars as Irene Vail, a faithful wife to a jealous husband. One night, her husband plans to frame her, attempting to prove she has cheated on him so that she cannot get a divorce from him. The plan fails when a good samaritan (Charles Boyer) walks in and foils the plan. He takes Irene away and the two fall madly in love with each other. When the jealous husband comes back to find his wife missing and his plans in disarray, he murders the man in on the frame-up in order to get his wife away from the mysterious kidnapper. Everything goes crazy from there, with the new couple desperately trying to be happy and the jealous man constantly ruining it all.

This is perhaps one of Arthur's best films. She shines like a true star ... Read More

I bought this DVD to replace my VHS tape. The company that manufactured the DVD must be on some religious crusade, because they edited it significantly. I will never buy anything from that company again. I tossed the DVD and kept the VHS.
