VHS : The Legend of Billie Jean
I just watched this movie again for the 100th time and continue to think its one of the best movies of the 80's. It really captures the feeling of life in the 80's and what it feels like to be a smart teenager who gets treated unfairly. The soundtrack is also awesome- Billy Idol, Wendy O. Williams and Pat Benetar. I read that Benetar loves to rip this movie up in concert before singing the theme. Too bad she is such a idiot not even knowing the coolness that is this movie. Check it out- Fair is Fair! Oh and the Joan of Arc refrence gives it some alternative flair.

To those from the King of Prussia Area (like myself), there are references and allusions to places (VF park, etc.) and some interesting exaggerated portrayal of characters, some of which I had for teachers (Pat Schnure, Vince Valaitis)

To those not from the area, it is still a sickening psychological drama that will keep you locked to the TV for the full 4+ hours (ended up watching it till 3 in the morning). The outcome is known, but the choppiness of the plot keeps the viewer actively watching, trying to figure out what has happend, and what is about to happen. The end of the movie with the cases ties everything together to leave the viewer highly satisfied. For those who like intellectually stimulating movies, a must-see. For those who are more interested in comedy, thrills, or screams, ... Read More

I really enjoy fantasy-sci-fi movies. This was a fun movie with a good twist at the end. Too bad they did not make more in the line.

This video is a real treasure and I am so glad I found it! The photography is awsome and John Denver's music is wonderful. It is good to see him doing what he loved best - singing and being in nature. I hope they release it on DVD.

I don't understand why people panned this one. Williams was still a clown but rendered a dramatic performance that was second to none. Not quite as good as the "Fisher King" but then he didn't have Jeff Bridges to play off of.

A film that was clearly inspired by Deliverance, but that quite easily merits viewing in its own right. If you replace adventurers with National Guardsmen you do have almost the same film. However don't let that put you off because this is very well done and probably has more of a brooding sense of menace to it than Deliverance does. The cast are are all good and director Walter Hill perhaps peaked with this film.

The story is slight, but effective, some National Guardsmen upset the locals whilst out on an exercise. The locals aren't happy and seek to punish the soldiers in various horrible ways. When you see this unfold you will begin to see that maybe this film was an influence on the first Rambo film and even perhaps Predator.

Again in another parallel to Deliverance this has a marvellous ... Read More
