VHS : The African Queen
What a work of art! This is one of the best movies of all time. When the spinster missionary woman (Hepburn) must TOLERATE Mr. Arnaut (Bogart)
in their life-threatening trip down the river in a beat-up old boat, The African Queen, the fun begins. She can drum up no respect for this man--until she realizes that he is an intelligent person who may be able to save their lives by his cool wit. He good naturedly sloughs off her constant criticism, while she endures his slovenly ways and colorful language. At some point they start developing a strong like for each other. When Bogie finally shaves, well you know romantic sparks are about to fly. Movies or stories do not come any better than this.

VHS : Miracle in the Wilderness
I can't believe that this movie has never been released on DVD!!! Especially with all of the fame that Kim Cattrall got with her role in Sex and the City...I would think that it would have created more of a demand for the other things that she has acted in, but somehow this one seems to have been lost along the way somewhere! I first saw this movie on television many years back and later rented it on VHS. It left such an impact on me that I have been waiting and watching for it to come out on DVD ever since. It is a very touching movie...A wonderful twist on the traditional Christmas/Nativity story. Following is a description of the movie (written by Jason Ankeny, All Movie Guide):
"Derived from Paul Gallico's novella The Snow Goose, this Christmas fable stars Kris Kristofferson as Jericho ... Read More

What can I say that hasn't been said already? This is a comedy about a grim subject but WHAT a comedy. The characters are literally to die for. Obviously Peter Sellers in his many roles is terrific but it's tough--even for Sellers--to top his truly odd character, Dr. Strangelove. Strangelove's previous work for the Nazis has left him with a strange schizophrenia in which is right hand, quite literally, doesn't know what his left hand is doing. It's constantly flying up in an attempted Nazi salute and, by the end of the film, like the B-rated horror flick "The Hand", tries to strangle the confused Dr. Strangelove.

Slim Pickens is equally great as the hilarious cowboy B-52 pilot who, overcoming all odds, Russian and U.S., flies his bomber in low, fast and deadly to deliver a nuclear bomb fated ... Read More

VHS : Goodbye Again
This love story, initially called Aimez-vous Brahms (Do You Like Brahms?) contains all of the themes necessary to make it a continuous classic.
Three major performances given by three tremendous actors. Ingrid Bergman in one of her later roles is heart-breakingly beautiful, and Anthony Perkins gives a performance so joyful, vulnerable and nuanced, I find something different in it every time I see it.
Add to it a time in Paris that is magical and a score by Brahms that is unforgettable.
When will this be available in DVD?!
