This 5 star review is for Perry King only. He plays the nice slave owner in the film, a slave owner with a heart. Anyways I'm a huge fan of Perry ever since i saw him in Melrose Place & Switch. Of course all his films are not available since he starting acting in the 70's and i wanted to see his earlier works. I was shocked but the UNCUT version of the film was actually available on iTunes so i rented it. It's coming out on DVD this June 2008. I really didn't care for the film nor did i find it racy the way ever other review has it on here. Definitely check this out for a young Perry. It such a shame he isn't in more films. He has charisma and the X-FACTOR all the way. It truly isn't as racy as everyone says it is. It could have been much more racy but this is the 70's.

zero stars.

As a standalone B-movie, it's very mediocre, but watchable. Low expectations are richly rewarded here.

If you read Wambaugh's book, you will loathe the movie because it betrays your hopes and expectations so badly. No wonder Wambaugh wanted to have his name removed from the credits. The movie tears all the flesh away from his excellent book and keeps just a few bones.

If you have not read the book, but "kinda" liked the movie, read the book. You are in for a huge treat. If you read the book, but have not seen the movie, that's as far as you need go. Or read the book again.

First off, I've never read the book. That said, I must say that what I find most intriguing about the Billy Pilgrim character (Michael Sacks) in SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE is how much of a true pilgrim he is. He is unhitched from time, while simultaneously, due to his own pleasant personality and ever-calm demeanor, Billy is also a traveler through space. He drifts through life as a disengaged observer, like a cork floating down a stream. Billy is a warm, innocent human being who is utterly removed from his own existence! He watches / feels things unfold like a character in a play. He reminds me of Peter Sellars' Chauncy Gardener in BEING THERE. Adrift in a universe that simply takes him wherever it will. The main segments of Billy's life are presented from his own disengaged viewpoint. We get to go ... Read More

Terrific in every way. Introduced me to Richard Jordan, an actor whose work always grabbed me by the throat, who could go toe to toe with any actor of his day (if he had been able to finish playing Dr. Kohl in The Fugitive, what a confrontation that would have been at the end!) and who died far, far too soon. The brief scenes between him and Henry Fonda (who puts the curse on him and his family) are unforgettable (watch Fonda to see how a strong man can crumble and Jordan to see how a strong man can crack just a little bit). Each tape has two episodes. Don't start them too late in the evening, or like me you'll be up until 2 am finishing them.

VHS : Greatest Adventure: Samson & Delilah
I bought the entire collection of this series, including the story of Samson and Delilah. I started with the David story and was arogantly going to return it as I wanted to give my then 2 year old only complete bible truth. So I went to my Bible and realized that I was basing my knowledge on the watered down versions of Bible stories from my childhood. There it was (in the book of Samuel)I was amazed at how acurate the series was. (The only one that had a slight error in it was the video on the Nativity but only because of the wisemen's visit to baby Jesus not at the manger. He was already living in a home which is why King Herod killed all babies under the age of two... but I believe the makers wanted to get the full story in the 20-30 minutes of the video... smile) The entire series is a great success ... I am a fan of both versions of The Hasty Heart. After having viewed the 1983 version in my high school Theatre class, I was immediately compelled to find the older version just for pleasure. I am so glad I found this moving and interesting movie once more. Thank you Mrs. Everette for introducing me and thank you Amazon for reaquainting us.

I was surprised to see Rob Lowe in this movie. Of course, Rob is one of the few good things in this movie that is yet another entry into the disaster genre. Unfortunately, there are so many problems with this movie's plot that the producer should have fired the technical advisor or the director that failed to listen to him.

There is this train traveling through the Rocky Mountains with a Russian nuclear missile secreted on board. In addition to the nuclear missile are all kinds of hazardous waste, including metallic sodium, which essentially explodes on contact with water. So, the train is rolling down hill for hundreds of miles into Denver with an air line on the train fails. Wait. That can not be right.

Let us check the facts. Once you get just a little way west of Denver, ... Read More

This flick can be a little slow at times, but it does enough to keep your interest. By the time they get to court you just can't wait till this guy gets his, cause he really didn't seem like the type when you first see him. It's the same type story, bad guy gets off, but justice prevails, and does it ever as victim "makes it right". Justice served.
