VHS : Year of the Comet
This movie has gotten some unnecessarily bad press. It's basically a Cinderella story with wine. The performances are excellent and the Louis Jourdan subplot is clever. This is a straightforward romantic comedy with some international adventure elements. The script is by the great William Goldman. I've seen it again and again. It's sweet and endearing and the wine information is accurate. Check it out. You have nothing to lose and you probably have a wine-loving friend or two who will find it fun.

VHS : Witch Hunt (1994)
I have been waiting for years for this movie to make it to dvd.To say that this movie is quirky is an understatement.
It follows a detective played beautifully by Dennis Hopper as he tries to solve a murder. What is unusual is
that the average Joe uses magic as part of his daily routine,i.e.want to take out your trash, simply think it
and its done or want to be beautiful have someone cast
a spell and its done.
Hopper vehemently refuses to use magic eventhough he knows how.We get to follow him as meets a cast of quirky characters who use magic and try to help him solve the
murder.
Its just a fun movie.

This movie did what is called, "tell the truth", but in good taste. Why do I say that? Well it showed how people really can be, but ugly does not have to prevail. Good is a universal description.

Crime drama, romance, comedy, CUTE kids (the comedic and cute kids elements often blended together in a *kids say the darndest things* format) - all of these parts make up a satisfying and sweet-natured film! Loved it.

5.Adventures in Babysitting starring: Elisabeth Shue, Maia Brewton, Keith Coogan, Anthony Rapp, Calvin Levels

VHS : Adventures in Babysitting
This is my all-time favorite 80's comedy. Watching it today, it is no less enjoyable than it was upon initial release. If a film stands the test of time, that is when you know it has become a classic in its own right. The performances by everyone are all around charming and delightful. The writing is clever, witty and fun. Adventures in Babysitting will engross you from the very opening when Elisabeth Shue dances her way thru "Then He Kissed Me," by the Crystals until the closing credits roll by the same number. This is definitely the kind of film to watch if you are feeling down and out. It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and more! Enjoy it again and again! Also recommended for fans of this film: Teen Witch.

VHS : Awakenings
If ever I feel like I need a good cry (my wife is always saying I am such a girl, but I appreciate the need for emotional release) then this is one of the four or five films I readily reach for (the others being `The Elephant Man', `Million Dollar Baby', `Of Mice and Men' and the mediocre yet emotionally draining `I Am Sam'). If Ron Howard is the king of schmaltz then Penny Marshall is the queen, for she understands, like Howard, how to create a heavy-handed manipulative film feel natural and inviting. This film slides down smooth as can be, despite the fact that each and every frame is designed to antagonize our emotions.

`Awakenings' is based on the book written by neurologist Oliver Sacks. The book is based on the true story of neurologist Malcolm Sayer who discovers that a drug called ... Read More

I liked this tape a lot. There are no outdated moves and it is surprisingly modern for being 15 years old. You have to fast forward through the first 10 minutes of talking and interviews. This is Kathy's first workout video, and it seems like she is trying to establish herself and introduce her program. She does give some basic good tips on diet and committing to a routine.(This would be great to put on a DVD that way you could quickly select the segments you want to view.) The video showcases celebrities such as: Justine Batement and Beverly D'Angelo and you get to see them work out with Kathy.

The workout consists of:

1) Beginning Step Workout 20 min. (traditional step moves) and cool down
2) Intermediate Step (more advanced moves) 15 minutes and cool down
3) Advanced Step 15 minutes ... Read More

MARIO PUZO'S "THE LAST DON" is intended for those who are keenly interested
in the backdrop and in the behind the scenes look at the individuals running
their own business operations generating a lot of earnings, profits and cash,
in this instance, in the underworld.

Danny Aiello, does an outstanding job as the head honcho, who is lays out the
medium and long term strategies and plans of his group, and guides along his
caporegime grandsons, consiglieri and family members day in, day out.

Joe Mantegna's acting, as well, is on par, playing the hammer or collector
of illegal debts for the group, with a valid balanced approach between hard-line
rubouts and enjoying life outside work, interacting with a number of sensual women,
in the picture, such as ... Read More
