VHS : Buddy Buddy
This is a Lemmon-Matthau classic. This rates equal if not better the the grumpy old men flicks. Jack Lemmon is one of the best actors of all time and Matthau is superb as well. I can't understand how this is not available on DVD.

So much better than all the schlock crap that is being peddled as "spoof" today. This is a truly funny movie. It will go down in history as setting a standard that has yet to be reached in its genre. Classic horror comedy at its finest!

3.Honeymoon Machine starring: Steve McQueen, Brigid Bazlen, Jim Hutton, Paula Prentiss, Dean Jagger

We showed this movie at the theatre I worked at when it first came out. Except for the Martian-fearing sailor, overall I thought it was funny (I just don't care for silly comedy - hence only 4 stars). I am a particular fan of the Hutton/Prentiss comedy pair-up.

I wanted to say that I was thoroughly pleased with this movie. I am 55 years old. I remember watching this movie as a pre-teen is 1965 at a slumber party. So I gathered my friends from the slumber party, we watched the movie again together and still cried over it. It brings back fond memories of when we were young girls. Now we are grandmothers. Thank you so much.

Peace and Blessings,
Karen E. Sams

I saw this at the walk-in in the 60s when I was a little tyke and just loved it. I saw it on TV in the 90s and since I was living in Southern California I knew where the hood was so I searched one day and I found the house! It is in Calabasas right off the 101 and Mulholland Highway. I loved the finned cars and the gorgeous women. Damn, that Bob Hope was one lucky Bachelor. When it comes out on DVD I will buy it.

A classically funny movie. Jim Hutton and Paula Prentiss are great.

VHS : In Harm's Way
A classic match up of John Wayne, Kirk Douglas with a five star supporting cast. This, and the action a suspence of the early days of World War Two, make it unforgetable.

8.Catch-22 starring: Alan Arkin, Martin Balsam, Richard Benjamin, Art Garfunkel, Jack Gilford

Catch-22 DVD

Catch-22 is based on Joseph Heller's novel about an American air base in the Mediterranean during World War II. Again, if you are a reader IMHO the book Joseph Heller's Catch-22 (Barron's Book Notes) is better, the movie quicker, Starring Alan Arkin and Martin Balsam.

Recommended for fans of Alan Arkin and Martin Balsam.

And by funny I mean funny 'ha ha'. It had a funny beginning, but that was it. Very disappointed in buying this one, I thought that since Peter Sellers and Woody Allen was in it, it would be funny, but it wasn't. No funny lines, or any creative situations. Pretty bland movie. I'll have to stick to movies by Blake Edwards instead.

10.The Stepford Wives (Silver Anniversary Edition) starring: Katharine Ross, Paula Prentiss, Peter Masterson, Nanette Newman, Tina Louise

VHS : The Stepford Wives (Silver Anniversary Edition)
I love this film. This is film-making at its American Classic best. There is so much depth to this film. And the subtleties are amazing. I've seen it more than once and it really does have a lot of layers. Maybe, as a previous review indicated, it seems slow-paced compared to the movies we're accustomed to seeing now. However, if you watch closely there are a lot of things that are revealed but not underscored in a heavy-handed fashion. Joanna insists her husband finish doing the dishes as she does other kitchen chores. Joanna is asked if she's ever made it in front of a fireplace by her husband and she replies "Not with you." Joanna was a strong and opinionated woman, and that obviously grated on her weak-willed husband. The reasons he loved her to being with are also the reasons he plots to replace her.

I also really ... Read More
