VHS : Fiddler on the Roof
I'd never seen this before getting the DVD, or at least never seen the entire film. I knew all the songs already, and my husband says we saw it as a play, but if we did, a lot of stuff was cut out.

Milkman Tevye (Topol), his wife, and five (!) daughters in pre-revolutionary Russia. I remember my parents going to see this at the theater, probably back in 1971, when it was released, and listening to my mom and some of her friends swooning over Topol. I have to say, I can see their point. It's not the appearance, it's the character.

One by one, his older daughters buck tradition and choose their own husbands by falling in love: a penniless tailor, a revolutionary teacher, and a local, non-Jewish Russian boy. And despite his bluster at not being obeyed as the head of ... Read More

VHS : Phobia (1980)
This is a dark movie, addressing the inner primal fear deep in us all. Stars Paul Michael Glaser, in a role you might be a wee bit surprised to see him portray. He plays a doctor on a grant program trying his own "shock method" to cure their "Phobia's". This is a good guy, bad guy movie that slowly sees each one of the doctors patients murdered. In the end he (Glaser)loses his grant program, and the police suspect it's him killing is patients. When he is found by his girlfriend, the doctor has killed is last patient because he could not cure him. The end is shocking/disturbing. Suspense filled, at times hard to follow, vaguely predicable. But I care not to watch it again.

70's producers dream. Wacky, cute, and hippie-ish with boyish figure that was going to be all the rage (boobs were out then). As I watch these movies today and look back at what a loud pointless era it really was, I'm reminded that, gee, veneral disease made a big comeback in those days, too. All that "free" love, I guess. Enjoy!

VHS : Single Bars Single Women
Single Bars, Single Women was an 1984 TV Movie that takes on the singles scene mainly from a women's point of view. A wry sexy drama that explores close friends on the brink of womanhood who attempt to meet men at a singles bar. The action takes place at Bandini's a water hole for the lonely and broken hearted.

VHS : Starsky & Hutch
This movie of STARSKY & HUTCH is awesome and funny and even better than the STARSKY & HUTCH TV show with David Soul(Ken Huthinson) and Paul Michael-Glaser(Dave Starsky) that ran on ABC for 4 years from 1975-1979, since the movie with Ben Stiller(Starsky) and Owen Wilson(Hutch) has more action and more drama in it and explaining the true story behind Starsky & Hutch's partnership and relationship and how they met and got started before they became partners along with the fact that Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller do an astonishing job at playing STARSKY & HUTCH.

This movie was also a lot funnier than the TV series was and I loved this movie even though I was never a very big STARSKY & HUTCH fan when it was on ABC back in the 1970's, even though it was a very popular police drama back ... Read More
