VHS : The Indiana Jones Trilogy
Three years after he successfully thwarted the Nazis attempt to harness the power of the Ark of the Covenant; Indiana Jones is back for even more adventure with "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". Joining star Harrison Ford and director Steven Spielberg we have a new lead actress, as Kate Capshaw ("Black Rain") becomes the newest Indy girl, and young actor Jonathan Ke Quan as Indy's latest associate, the pint-sized Short Round; along with two new writers, Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz, that had previously worked with producer and co-creator George Lucas on his teen classic "American Graffiti". With all of the pieces in place, it was time for the adventure to continue, as "The Man in the Hat" was back once more on the silver screen.

Steven Spielberg at HIS BEST. Another movie from my Dad's Collection. The action never stops and there's a carefully calculated high-point every 15 minutes at least. The effects are well co-ordinated, and the film is easily Spielberg's most genuinely riveting. The film is produced by George Lucas. Harrison Ford, discovered by Lucas, for STAR WARS, plays the title character, who is BOGART, FLASH GORDON and HAN SOLO rolled into one.

VHS : Only Love
Well, well, well, if I didn't read the book first, maybe I would have had diferent opinion on this movie. But I think the way they end the movie did total injustice to the original story of the book. Correct me if I am wrong but the impression I got from the book was that Evie was his true love from the beginning and it was his realization of that and finally being free from his obseession over Silvia made it possible for him to find the music again.

In movie, they end it the way make you think that Silvia was his true love then and now and her love and his grief over her death made him find his lost music. They made it look like Evie is second best after all. Wrong, wrong, wrong way to interpret teh book.

I know you have to look at the book and the movie seperately but since ... Read More

It is to be lamented that Herr Lewis did not keep up the pace of fun in the 1970's. He tried the dramatic route with The Day the Clown Cried which none of us in the audience has seen yet..........perhaps someday. Jerry Lewis should have tried a slapstick version of remembrance of Things Past by Proust.

i just saw this movie early this morning i was able to see only 75 to 80 percent of it because i was still in bed very tired but when i saw legendary actor paul newman in it i decided to give it a shot paul newman was good as harry keach in it he was serious but yet adding a little bit of comedy acting he plays a strict father who was very tough on his son and wanted him to grow up by being able to take care of himself he lost his wife in the life and had a difficult time continuing with the rest of his life by refusing to see other women who wanted to go out with him Robby Benson was howard (paul newman's movie son) he personally reminded me of john travolita from grease and Emile Hirsch from a girl next door put together he had a pregnant girl played by Ellen Barkin Morgan Freeman and the late great Ossie Davis ... Carrey plays a miserable, complaining nobody who gets incredible powers after he offers to swop places with God. Some of the scenes after this are terrific fun.

Morgan Freeman is God, and the weird thing is, he suits the role admirably!
