This movie is so wonderful. I loved it when it originally came out in the early 90's then redisovered it after my own father passed away. This movie should be released to DVD and for all of those who missed it I'm sad for you this movie has all the right punch; comedy, darkness, and drama. If you get the chance watch this movie you will be so glad you did.

VHS : The Bible - Jeremiah
Some lively direction and great performances bring some life to what could have been a bleak story.
Over 6 Centuries before Christ, Judah is revitalised when the ancient scrolls are discovered and the temple is restored. The young Jeremiah is born into the order of the priesthood, and his faith and tradition become the cornerstone of his existence during this renaissance of sorts. However, 16 years later the adult Jeremiah receives a Word from God that nobody wants to hear - that the sins and excesses of Judah are going to lead to the destruction of Jerusalem, and the people will be led into bondage. Does he have the faith and strength to deliver the Word, facing ostracism from his family, tragic separation from the woman he loves, and persecution for treason?

"Can't Buy Me Love" is a charming 80s classic that never gets old. I've always had alot of affection for this film, and was pleased to locate a copy on Amazon. This was from Patrick Dempsey's pre-Grey's Anatomy, feature film stardom period. He turned out several funny, heartwarming, & charming films during this time. I personally wish he would stick to films and bid adieu to Grey's Anatomy & Dr. Derek Shepard. While I am a big fan of both GA and Dempsey, I really have no love for "McDreamy" as a character/sex symbol--WAY overrated in my POV!!!

I saw this film years ago, and watched it on BD for the first time yesterday on a 42" Plasma and BD30K BD player. The storyline invokes the type of fear that is reminiscent of the best medical/disaster films, and the characters are real, and caused me to root for them. The acting was a bit over the top, but it was bearable, as the film was very suspenseful.

The history of the virus, military coverups and the ensemble cast create an exciting climax, and I mostly enjoyed the scenes between Kevin Spacey, Rene Russo and Dustin Hoffman in tracking down patient zero. For anyone that doesn't believe that this could happen, you are in denial. While we should not become victims of fear mongers and media-induced anxiety, the film paints a realistic "path" of how a virus could quickly spread.

I watched this miniseries about fifteen years ago and I never forgot the brilliant performance of Patrick Dempsey as the young Jack Kennedy. Since then the two are inseparable in my perception of JFK and I have been quite amazed for a long, long time that Dempsey didn't reach star-status or at least became a sex-symbol. Of course this is history now since the succes of Grey's Anatomy and he acquired both, strangely enough at roughly the same age that JFK became president...

I believe that this production paints also one of the most accurate pictures of the [Joe and Rose] Kennedy household that I have ever seen: a strange blend of conservatism and modernism, freedom and discipline. Probably some of the ingredients that made the future president, his wife and brother such enigmatic and fascinating personalities. ... Read More
