This movie is stupurbolis! Yes I make up my own word for it. I'm glad it doesn't have any songs in it. If it did, I probably would have thrown the VHS out long ago. As for the different tones in the picture, did they restore it before they transfered it? And Nymph 2 was a perfectly good movie and excellent sequel. The songs were entertaining. My schpeil's done.

VHS : One Christmas
I think this movie was heart wrenching just because I think the child wanted so badly to be with his mom and dad but unfortunately it just couldn't be that way. I can't give the end of the film away but I'll tell you it is very bitter sweet. A nice clean family movie, worth buying, worth watching.

VHS : Batman & Robin
In the original "Batman" & "Batman Returns," the storylines (or what shreds there were) were overwhelmed by the comic-book schtick left over from the wonderful 1960's "Batman" series. The schtick was fine for the series, but for the films...AUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. GOOD GRIEF! In "Batman Forever," Akiva Goldsman took over the screenwriting duties and the schtick was eliminated, giving way to a firmly grounded storyline. The same with its excellent follow-up "Batman & Robin" (which I fail to see why it performed badly at the box office). Sadly, the franchise went into hibernation after this great film. There was only one thing missing (for which I would've given it 4/1/2 stars, but I decided on giving it the full 5, since this site doesn't allow reviewers to give half-star ... Read More

4.Batman (1989) starring: Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger, Robert Wuhl, Pat Hingle

VHS : Batman (1989)
Keaton and Basinger are very bland, and some new guy named Knoxx is all over the place and Gordon ain't in much. And the Joker upstages Batman. But the dark feel would rub off on many comic-book adaptions, and the big success would lead to more superhero films. (For better or worse.) And Jack Nicholson is very good, amd the set and score are amazing. Worth a rent.

5.Batman Returns starring: Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Michael Gough

VHS : Batman Returns
Michael Keaton.Danny DeVito.Michelle Pfieffer.Christopher Walken.Four excellent actors together in one of the darkest takes on Batman:Batman Returns.Batman(Keaton)must rid Gotham City of the bizarre and sinister sewer-dwelling monster, Penguin(DeVito),the mysterious and sultry Catwoman(Pfieffer), and the CEO tycoon Max Shreck(Walken).

This obviously Tim Burton movie shows that Batman is the best from the flashy effects, dark settings, and eye-captivating plot, puts Batman Returns on one of the best batman movies(The Dark Knight was the best)in my eyes.Keaton obviously knows when he's got a good gig too!But I must warn parents that this movie is definatly PG-13 for a reason!(Very dark and scary for children under ten, especially DeVito's Penguin)!

I'm not worried about actors and directors. I want to know something new when I view a movie like this, and this was an eye opener!! It is a must see for all of us boys and girls who were raised in homes of FDR haters. Guess there aren't many left today. Not that it is about FDR, but it will open your eyes about Truman, who he was, and his wisdom which most under-estimated. You know a little old haberdasher.

7.Baby Boom starring: Diane Keaton, Sam Shepard, Harold Ramis, Kristina Kennedy, Michelle Kennedy

This is Diane Keaton at her BEST! This is a fantastic movie, with great actors all around. It warms the heart, and makes you laugh, and leaves you wanting more.

Action movies are only as good as their villains. Heroics require really nasty bad guys.

Gene Hackman skillfully portrays an antagonist so mean you know he'd kill his own son. Sharon Stone, for the most part, credibly plays the protagonist, but her motivation for revenge seems filched from Harmonica in Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West.

The remaining cast of bad guys are cartoonish and the plot stretches credulity beyond the limits, but fine acting and a unique premise work to make this an engaging film.

It also fun to watch Leonardo Di Caprio and Russell Crowe in secondary roles before they could demand eight figure salaries per movie.

VHS : A Thousand Acres
Once again, I have found it wise to revisit certain films to see if I have changed towards the picture.Well,I saw A THOUSAND ACRES in 1998 in the theatre and left feeling ehh...dry,not impressed. Now,nearly ten years later,I was riveted to the screen for the story and the outstanding performances. Why the change? I now have experienced a lot that happened in this film and only time has revealed to me that what happened in this film happened in my life.

Harold Cook (a surly Jason Robards) is the richest and most powerful man with his 1000 acres that has been in his family for three generations. He has been widowed and his three daughters have been there for him, tending to his needs and putting up with his drunkenness, abuse and control. He decides to will the 1000 acres to the three daughters and two of their spouses, setting ... VHS : Splendor in the Grass
Thankfully, I did not grow up in this era, and everything I have read and heard about it is obviously not entertaining. It is, therefore, even more amazing to me how entertaining this movie is for me. First of all, the chemistry between the beautiful Natalie Wood and the handsome Warren Beatty is off the charts. They are so young, especially her, but they are such masters of their craft even at their young ages. This movie has the depressing events of the times woven through the lives of the characters such as people jumping from windows after the stock market crashed.

First love, young oppressed love is the central theme. "Good girls" and "bad girls" and "boys will be boys" relay the double standard message of the times and of the movie. I can almost feel the pain of Bud and Deanie who are so much in love, but are not allowed ... Read More
