The first time I viewed this movie, frankly I was sickened. It is not a pretty picture. There is not one person protrayed that I would actually like to meet. However it haunted me, I couldn't forget it. I tried to tell myself it was silly, dated, couldn't decide if it was a comedy or just a mix of whatever. I ended up watching it again, and the second veiwing was very different. I found that I saw a definate "courage" in the acting and directing of Bud Cort. This is a man that is not afraid to put himself out there, in the worse possible light i.e. a mentally unstable stalker. There is one scene where he is running away from the court ordered mental hospital, running down a hill, if you look closely, you will see the attention to detail that Bud Cort used. This is my second favorite Joan Severance feature, mostly because of the ... scenes between her and her two male leads. She is steaming hot, especially on the kitchen table. As far as the story goes, it's a fairly rehashed film noir about a cop on the edge and the way his ... wife manipulates him into murdering her brother. He in turn is betrayed by her when she manipulates and beds an Internal Affairs cop who's investigating her husband. All for money. The main reason I rented this at the video store was for Joan Severance, and she delivers the goods. Good companion viewing for Payback, another steamy Severance flick.

First off, the acting in this movie was just soooooo ridiculous, it kind of reminded me of a crappy high school play. Actually, I take that back, the worst part of his movie wasn't the acting, but the directing. This is quite obvious during the scene when they formed their gang. After one of the gangsters comes up with the name "hot boyz" (btw, wtf kinda name is that?) they cut to each gang member who puts thier forty in for a toast and say "hotboyz nigga." When they finally get to snoop dog, you'll actually laugh when he says the phrase for the sixith time. The second thing that made this move somewhat funny was the car chase scenes. This movie is a virtual scene for scene remake of a 1985 movie called "Streetwalkin'." And it has some of the same actors too. I liked this version better and Leslie Bega,who plays Micki, is really hot! However, I am wondering why they changed the name of this movie. It used to be called "Angel In Red" and I liked that title better. "Uncaged" is too generic and vague.

Never liked either of the two leads, Gere or Garcia. "American Gigolo" was dreck masquerading as something edgy and "Godfather 3" was misery to view. That said, Gere redeems as the tense and unlikable Dennis Peck. He'll steal, takes bribes, screw your wife, stick you in the back any way he can, the kind of sociopathic personality that one hopes they never meet.He's also a cop. Garcia as the good guy IAD officer who tries to play fair but has his own manhood,morality and temper tested to the 12th power by the amoral Peck. Decent support cast, great overall.
