This is a fantastic true story about a boy, his mother and his family who are caught up in a communist revolution. If anyone is in doubt about what a choke hold communism can put on a country, see this movie. After you see the movie you might even come to the conclusion that US Senator Joe McCarthy(American patriot, anti spy - anti communist Senator who was railroaded by congressional liberals and the press to the point that his name was made into an adjective in American dictionaries. They made an outcast of him and forced him to live the rest of his short life in disgrace. In 1995, upon the declassification of the CIA's "Verona project", this great man was proven right about everything he claimed including the people that he accused of being communist spies.) wasn't such a bad guy. Andrew Morenski (Jon Cryer) is a Wall Street broker in his prime living the good life and making the nice money. That is until the FBI wants him to testify against a mob figure regarding a bogus financial deal. It seems okay until hit men enter the picture and the government protection lets him down. Plan B though finds him hiding out in suburbia with his aunt and cousin and eventually leads him to hiding out back in his cousin's high school of all places. That can't be all bad right?

Wrong. Now it's time for the best laid plans to go right out the window in the funniest ways ever. Maxwell Hauser (nothing like getting your alias from a coffee can) becomes the oldest student ever in high school and he just can't get a break. For someone who's trying to keep a low profile, Maxwell ... Read More

C. Columbus: The Discovery DVD

This movie is probably the most historically accurate film that I've seen, so far, on Christopher Columbus. Contrary to what you might have been taught in elementary school the intelligentsia did not think the world was flat. They thought the world was round and was approximately 25,000 miles in circumference at the equator. Columbus thought the circumference at the equator was more like 18,000 miles. (25,000 is correct) Since Marco Polo had traveled by land to Cathay(China) going East for about 12,000 miles, all he would have to do was sail West for 6,000 miles and voila he'd arrive in the Indies. Well, he was wrong, but got lucky and hit the New World instead. I think it is pretty arrogant to say that Columbus "discovered" the New World. One ... Read More

I've always wanted to buy this dvd, ever since I read the novel and saw the movie on t.v., I've search for this dvd and I found it on amazon.com. It's a good movie, with flawed characters, but despite this he made it, and the amazing dogfight with the other firefox, it just blew my mind away, eastwood is great!

I've seen every movie versian of Beowulf that I know of and this is the only one yet that disapointed me. Setting, casting, custumes, props, soundtrack(WTF!), dialogue and the very story itself were all garbage. It seems as though every character in the story has a differnt accent with no effort put in whatsoever to make it seen like they didn't all come right off the boardwalks of California. Don't bother with this one.

While I'm not saying the movie is forgettable, I am saying that I did forget having seen it until I re-watched it today. Now I remember good portions of it from before.

In all it's a comedy / martial arts piece with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. It's a worthy sequel to the original. Plenty more action, comedy and loose women, so-to-speak. The pillow fight seemed completely extraneous, and yet quite amusing. Though, it was apparently the most dangerous scene in the movie on account of the feathers being inhaled and not wanting to come out... Weird!

The picture quality's great. The sound track is good. Actually the soundtrack is kind of weird, and yet rather amusing at several point if only for the choice of songs...

Yup, I'm still a Jackie Chan fan after this movie. In fact, the Shanghai ... Read More

VHS : Oliver Twist (1982)
There are a lot of movies based on Charles Dickens classic novel Oliver Twist and I remember watching this version on TV I liked it and thought that George C. Scott and Tim Curry were really good and I would like to see this movie put on DVD! Tim Curry was good as Bill Sykes and the scene in which he attacked Nancy was scary!
