This has been one of our family's top-10 favorite movies since it was originally released as "Don't tell her it's me." I am not typically a romantic comedy fan, but this is charming and funny.

this movie is hilarious, dark, and a way of life ther's nothing i can say about this movie without missing something all that really needs to be said is if u dig on rockabilly u'll dig on this film (a lot) i just can't seem to find the soundtrack that is listed in the credits but no one knows what the hell i'm talking about thought about actually trying toget a hold of rob himself so if there is anyone out there whos knows of the full length soundtrack help a brother out i'll pay top dollar for it

When I saw this movie, I was in 5th grade (back in 1999). the film has a great storyline,I was able to learn about Denmark Vesey and who he was,and most of all: It has a powerful message. For those that want to see Brother Future, I strongly recommend this. I also recommend this for teachers (that want to show a great movie dealing with this situation mentioned in the movie and slavery) as well.

SPOILERS AHEAD! This is a nice surprise of a movie--heartfelt without being smarmy, intelligent, literate, witty, quirky, and shot in a lovely wooded area. It's about a man in New York who comes back to his native Montana to care for his ailing grandfather. The man is also gay but unattached, though an old flame tries to get together with him again. A more fascinating character is called Pike (Eric Schweig), a Native American who runs the general store but is scared of what he feels for the prodigal fellow, played by Arye Gross. The townspeople turn out to be very warm and tolerant in regard to gay relationships, and they are quite supportive in many respects. I liked the absurdities in this film, but the chemistry between Selma Blair, and Max Beesley was also great. A bank teller ( Blair ) decides to 'off' herself by jumping from the roof of her bank building, while the bank is in the process of being robbed. One of the robbers ( Beesley ) is chased back into the bank, and up to the roof just in time to grab the would-be suicide, and then, of course, threatens to kill her when a cop corners him. The robber manages to get the cop to back down. He then makes a deal with his hostage, telling her he'll kill her later if she helps him escape. Things begin getting complicated when the two of them start to like each other. I must admit that I was cheering the unlikely duo on, pretty much from the moment they began sharing screen-time.
