An Exercise in "Look at ME, I make FILMS!" by Jimmy-Jam Toback A segue from hip-hop to classical is our cue that Toback's sophisticated. Oh, and hip. Remember that. Next, throw in gratuitous cameos; Mike Tyson, Darrel Hannah, Damon Dash... and of course Mr. belly himself, Jimmy-Jam. Add dumb, self-consciously protracted dialog that's supposed to remind all of us commoners how wordly, clever, learned... JJ is. Instead, this self-indulgent piece of doo-doo just rings hollow. What a waste of time. And isn't time THE most valuable thing? This is worse than trying to pass a brick diagonally. Twice.

This is the best "camp" erotic film in the past quarter century, hands down. Not only is it a guilty pleasure for viewers of lesbian acts, but it also shows Kevin Bacons acting skills, which aren't the highest to begin with (he was also the Executive Producer), which probably explains why we get a gratuitous shot of his penis. I think the true shinning point of the film, is Bill Murray's off-script banter as Matt Dillons laywer. How they got him into this blatant flesh romp is a total wonderment to myself, but without him, I'd be laughing for ALL the wrong reasons. If you're looking for beautiful scenery of both Florida, and the nakedness of Denise Richards and a rather good looking for her age Theresa Russell, then you will never miss with this over-the-top indulgence in camp film making history. I purchased this film for use in a Halloween Week Movie Extravaganza. Adult viewers (20+ y.o.) of all ages found this film entertaining, funny, satirical, and interesting. Older folks did not like the strong graphic violence but this was off-set by the challenging "who is the murderer?" puzzle presented in the film. The casting is excellent. The actors line up nicely with the stereotypical characters of the story. The only thing I would change would be to use the alternative scene involving the students talking about the influence of films on behavior conducted by the stereotypical college professor. The film has a superior soundtrack. BUY THIS FILM. It is worthy of inclusion in your Library.

This movie is not a typical comedy or suspense thriller that Neve usually stars in. It's more of a down to earth, "real life" flick, one that inspires personal growth and encourages adventure. Neve is an adorable free spirit who is doing some soul searching. She has a mystical ora, a realness about her in this film. Very different from the others she's done. If you're a REAL NEVE CAMPBELL FAN, this one is not to be missed.

I recently bought the Scream boxset for a very good price. I watched the first one and I was highly disappointed. The references to other movies got annoying and I hated the cast. I prefer 70's and 80's horror to most of the junk in horror today. It had a few good scenes but wasnt too impressed. I think Wes Craven is overrated. Ive stated this on anther one of his movies, i've even checked out the Interet movie database to see what he has done. Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic and probably his best work. His other movies were decent but nothing could compare to Nightmare on Elm Street. Scream is decent but I wouldnt call it the greatest horror film of the 90's. Im sure someone will answer this.
