VHS : Everyone Says I Love You
This lovely-to-look-at and amazing-to-listen-to film was a major departure from the typical angsty Allen film....and because of that, it's unappreciated....Amazingly, it's unavailable on DVD...I hope that changes soon!

Here we go again. Another star wars movie with a twist...its animated. I am not a avid star wars fan, however, I have seen the new trilogy not the old one. I was excited to finally see this movie and I wasn't disappointed. The plot was simplistic at best and wasn't bombarded with idle chit-chat. It was a thrill ride from beginning to end, I don't care about the naysayers have to say. I felt that the movie was fresh, a nice change of pace, amazing feature film. The action never stifled or faltered it kept up with the film. The relationship between Anakin and the padawan was incredibly deep and moving. I felt a connection and was rewarded. If you are a crazed star wars fan you will nick pick this movie to death. Watch this movie because it was to the point and filled with action. I recommend this ... Read More

This movie was not that good. In the first place, it was excessively voilent. I know this movie takes place during the civil war and it was a voilent time, but I find it particulary unbearable because of several scenes. I also was disgusted by the sexual suggestions and scenes. I couldn't even sit through it, it was so bad.
It might have had a good love story, I mean a man forsaking his soldier days and risking his own life by being a deserter to return to the love of his life, that basis was fine. I'm a Civil War romance lover, I don't mind that. However, all the junk crammed in this film made it immpossible to watch.

Its time people realize somthing important. When George Lucas sat down to write star wars in the early 1970's he wrote episodes 1-6. Not 4-6, 1-3 but ALL six!!! He couldn't make a movie that long. So he came up with the story from ep 4 because he felt it was the best part for the time. It was the greatest film of all time. He did not expect it to do that well. He was exhausted from working on it, and vowed never to direct again, which is why he did not direct ep 5 and ep 6. However, years went by, and so did the technology (which his company developed!! ILM) which became CG. Now that it existed, he could tell the story he wanted to tell- ep 1-3. BY KNOCKING THIS MOVIE YOU ARE KNOCKING LUCAS HIMSELF!! Its his baby. NOW PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, get over Jar-Jar!! I was frankly blown away by the lightsaber scenes in this ... Read More

VHS : Beautiful Girls
Beautiful Girls is an ensemble comedy, with star power to burn. Hutton and Sorvino are both Oscar winners, while Dillon Thurman, and Portman have Oscar nominations. The title of this movie, Beautiful Girls, should clue you in to what it's about. It is a celebration of the beauty of women, but at the same time, it is also a cautionary tale about how men put Beauty on a pedestal that sometimes interferes with them making a commitment to a mature adult relationship with a real woman. In spite of the stellar cast and lofty premise, it probably went straight to DVD. I have no recollection of this movie being released theatrically. I thought that because of this it would be a big stinker, but it was actually quite good. I have a few theories about why it performed so poorly at the box office:

It had a rather diffuse ... Read More

I love this show. Ashley, Natalie and Stockard was excellent. The name of this movie matches it perfectly. If you have never seen it rent it first and then buy it. It is well worth the money. I strongly believe renting movies first after getting a couple that sucked big time. This is a 10 + Star type of movie.

What wonderful acting! It must be very difficult to act that aloof and keep a straight face. The Ben and Owen make a great team and Will is the ultimate supporting actor!

I saw all the "best movie" reviews and bought it. I was let down as although it is good, it is far from best in my book. The acting performances are what make the movie. Reno and Portman really bring life to a very improbable relationship, and it is heartwarming in spots.

Beyond that the movie lost credibility almost from the start with the over-the-top action. This was supposed to be in NY. The opening assassination scene is ridiculous. Machine gun fire goes on for ten minutes, yet there are no cops, no neighbors. Reno seemingly can be in two places at once, crawling through ceilings and scaling multiple floors, and a crack shot of course, while others are blind. And escape is never a problem. This goes on in every action scene and isn't credible. The action in the DEA office is a joke. And Gary Oldman's character belongs ... Read More
