Title is a little misleading. This is not a so called Christian Movie, but there are several references about Christianity or God in it. There is quite a bit ow swearing, and I suppose it did happen. Now about the movie. It is an excellent tribute to those who pioneered heart surgery. Although it is about surgery, there is as much said about racial problems and progress as well. We need more movies about true stories that help shape our country.

MY HUSBAND AND I SAW THE ITALIAN JOB ON BIG SCREEN AND WAS BLOWN AWAY. I BOUGHT IT ON VHS( OLD SCHOOL) AND WATCHED IT AGAIN IN THE COMFORT OF MY HOME. I DECIDED TO PURCHASE IT ON DVD AND WAS AMAZED AT HOW FAST AND INEXPENSIVE AMAZON WAS. QUALITY WAS GREAT. I WATCHED IT THE DAY IT ARRIVED. THIS FILM IS FANTASTIC. THE ACTION IS THRILLING, THE ACTING SUPERB. I'M A BIG FAN OF MARK WAHLBERG AND CHARLIZE THERON. I'M ECSTATIC TO HAVE THIS MOVIE IN MY COLLECTION. SINCERLY, BRENDA MORAJKA

Carmen is a hip hop remake of the classic film Carmen Jones. The film stars Beyonce from Destiny's Child as Carmen. Carmen is an actress trying to make it with the love of Mehki Pfefier. But Mos Def a dirty cop stands in the way. A lot of people love to trash Beyonce acting skills but I think she did an all right job here.

Enjoyment of this film doesn't hinge on how much you dig hip hop music or how deep or how far back your history with hip hop goes. 2002's BROWN SUGAR works just fine as a romantic film, and it's cool if you relish it solely for that. But if you love hip hop or even if you just have a nodding acquaintance with it, then you'll get so much more from the movie. Me, I grew up in the '80s, listening to what's referred to nowadays as old school hip hop. So I can definitely get with the opening sequence, which features real-life hip hop luminaries being interviewed and divulging their musical inspirations. It was OK. There were racial slurs against blacks in it and abuse, mental and physical in this movie. Halle Berry played a strong but abusive mother, who treated her kid like he was an evil step child half the time. Billy Bob Thorton lived an empty life and was the cause of his son's death. With the guilt of that, and Halle's son dying, they both created a comfort space for each other. They talked, related a bit and had sex (it was Halle's idea). The story drags on in parts though because you see Billy driving his car to certain destinations and it takes forever. Towards the end I was wishing that the movie would end. It did. 3.2 stars. end note: Is this the kind of movie you can watch more than once? Not in my opinion, no.

If yo want to know the true history of B-Boying Well this is it. Footage in this movie is great form the Jams in the Bronx to seeing Kool Herc with giant speakers out of his car ii the 70's. This movie is an instant classic for true hip hop heads. I'm a 70's baby from the BX so this really hit home for me. Get it you wont be disappointed. PEACE - ONE
