VHS : The Sandlot
The Sandlot was definitely the best movie of 1993. Hard to believe that was fifteeen years ago, I remember seeing this one in the theatre and enjoying every second of this heartfelt, inspiring film. The cast is hoot and Denis Leary is actually sweet in this! I recommend this childhood favorite to everyone, enjoy!

An Exercise in "Look at ME, I make FILMS!" by Jimmy-Jam Toback

A segue from hip-hop to classical is our cue that Toback's sophisticated. Oh, and hip. Remember that.

Next, throw in gratuitous cameos; Mike Tyson, Darrel Hannah, Damon Dash... and of course Mr. belly himself, Jimmy-Jam.

Add dumb, self-consciously protracted dialog that's supposed to remind all of us commoners how wordly, clever, learned... JJ is. Instead, this self-indulgent piece of doo-doo just rings hollow. What a waste of time.
And isn't time THE most valuable thing?

This is worse than trying to pass a brick diagonally. Twice.

VHS : WWE WrestleMania XIV - DX-Raided
Wrestlemania XIV was a huge event that took place at the Fleet Center in Boston. There are many memorable moments from this Wrestlemania. To me there wasn't a bad match on card at all. All of the matches are pretty watchable which makes up a good event to watch all the way through.

1. 15 Team Battle Royal for the #1 Contendership
A very good opener and battle royal which features 2 teams of the nation, headbangers, gowins, too cool, and others. The new L.O.D. makes a surprise return which was the highlight of the match. Good opener. 3.5/5

2. WWE Light Heavyweight Championship
Taka Michinoku vs. Aguila
A very good and high flying match between these 2 light heavyweights. There were some good aerial moves and also some good wrestling moves used as well. Very good match ... Read More

VHS : Black and White
Drama with two major plot strands: the first is Robert Downey Jr and Brooke Shields as a documentary-making couple making a documentary about white middle-class kids into black hip-hop culture and the second is Allan Houston's young black college basketball player being offered $50,000 by Ben Stiller's corrupt cop to throw a basketball match, which he then does but is then blackmailed by Ben Stiller and threatened with jail if he doesn't rat on his gangster friend Power. If you are a hip-hop fan you will enjoy seeing roles for a number of rappers in this film including Method Man, Raekwon and Ghostface Killer. Also look out for Claudia Schiffer as Houston's treacherous girlfriend and a surprisingly intelligent Mike Tyson in a cameo as himself. Ultimately the plots in this film don't really go anywhere but that said it is still an ... Read More

VHS : Hoodlum
This movie might not have won any awards or gotten praise by these high brow snobs but its still an excellent piece of work directed by Bill Duke(who stared in Commando, Predator, Exit Wounds, National Security and Busta Rhymes' Dangerous video) with excellent performances from an all-star cast.
Set in the Depression Era of 1930s Harlem, The only way people could make money was through the "Numbers racket which is ran by Stephanie St. Clair(Cicely Tyson) also known as " The Queen". An arrogant and brash gangster called Dutch Schultz wants to take control of the numbers game and ends up bumping heads with Ellsworth "Bumpy" Johnson(Laurence Fishburne) who is just released from jail. These two get into a series of wars and everything starts to get out of control. Laurence Fishburne as well as Tim Roth were great in this film. Andy ... Read More

VHS : Legends of the Ring - Mike Tyson - The Inside Story
I am a huge Tyson fan. I love watching his fights anytime, anywhere. I do agree entirely with what Blurb has said regarding the Lennox fight. Tyson was not only heavier and slower, but, since Tyson had fired Rooney a long time before, he had lost all he was taught from Cus. Also due to the fact he kept changing trainers which, in return, changed his fighting style. Slower, inable, loss of structure -- all of this was the build-up to the Buster fight and to the Lewis fight. If I were Mike, I'd be calling Rooney. But, I guess he doesn't want to be champ again.
