VHS : JFK
This is a fantastic film about the mystery surrounding JFK's assassination. If you haven't seen it, Blu-Ray is the perfect intro, if you have seen it, chances are you've never seen it like this. The transfer is crisp and clean, and the sound is fantastic.

VHS : Sea of Love
Supposedly this was the film that brought Al Pacino back from the dead so-to-speak.

Um, for real?

Okay, so this is not a horrible movie, but Al Pacino is the films weakest link (or is that the script). The film is far from thrilling, which is sad because it had that kind of potential. It also lacks the sensuality that would have brought the film to a different level. We are expected to believe that Keller and Cruger have something real, something that would really compromise his safety, but I just don't see anything real behind Pacino's eyes. It's not funny, at least not intentionally, so I'm not really sure what this movie is supposed to be.

It's not thrilling.
It's not dramatic.
It's not romantic.
It's not funny.

VHS : Rosewood
... despite the mitigation of a Hollywood love story and a fictitious super-hero, but still not as painful as the TRUTH, the true and well-documented story of an ethnic cleansing in Florida in 1923, when, over several days, European-American mobs attacked the peaceful and prosperous African-American village of Rosewood, in Levy County. During the attack, survivors estimated, as many as eighteen African-Americans and two European-Americans were. Most of the buildings, including churches and a school, were burned. The community was abandoned and, in spite of permanent loss of land and homes, the citizens never returned. Women and children were rescued, as shown in this film, by the crew of the train that regularly stopped at the village. Given the three days of carnage, news of the events reached national ... VHS : Eight Men Out
It is hard to believe that this movie is 20 years old already, it seems like yesterday that it was released, and this disc does it justice.

If you are a baseball fan of any level you probably know of the infamous Black Sox Scandel and the "fix" of the World Series, which rocked the baseball world much like the steroid issue today.

In Eight Men Out, the scandel is chronicled in a first class movie. The acting is superb throughout and the events surrounding the "fix" are well done. When the scandel is placed in the context of how baseball was during those times - players were far from having any power with respect to the owners - the nuances of how and why people reacted the way they did becomes more telling. Not as a justification for their actions, but more for how it could happen. ... Read More

VHS : Bastard Out of Carolina
I was born and raised in South Carolina in 1953 but left when I was sixteen years old...so I thought it might be interesting to watch this movie. I was wrong. This movie is really not a pleasant movie to watch. But for the fact that it is supposed to be based on fact, I am not sure I would find watching it of any worthwhile value. It reminded me of the movie, Rosewood. Truth or not, I mean what's the point to making movies of this stuff.

VHS : Mississippi Burning
My best friend and I had a discussion about Gene Hackman the other day, since both of us are huge fans. We were recounting some of our favorite Hackman performances (`Unforgiven', `Hoosiers') and I was suggesting to him Hackman films he needed to see (`The Royal Tenenbaums') and he was suggesting ones I needed to see (`Crimson Tide') and then we came to the subject of `Mississippi Burning' and realized that neither of us had seen it. So, I told him I was coming over and on my way I rented this film and we had a few beers and watched one of the best Hackman films either of us had ever seen.

Not just one of his best movies; one of his best performances!

`Mississippi Burning' (inspired by a true story) tells the tragic tale three young rights activists who were murdered in a small Mississippi ... Read More

Angelina Jolie takes a lot of risks in acting and thats what makes her SO amazing! She can play any role that they think up of. Denzels paralyzed character is so strong, you fall in love with him! This movie is very suspenseful and a great watch! I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes a great detective story because you will NOT be able to figure out who is the one killing every one until the very end :)

VHS : Song of Hiawatha
This movie is based on the poem, The Song of Hiawatha. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It gives you a sense of Native American culture and spirituality which is more believable since the Native Americans in the movie are portrayed by real Native American actors. And what an amazing cast of actors.

10.Trigger Effect starring: Kyle MacLachlan, Elisabeth Shue, Dermot Mulroney, Richard T. Jones, Bill Smitrovich
directed by: David Koepp

VHS : Trigger Effect
It's not overly complex and it's not profound, but the actors are good in their roles, the movie has a nice pace and interesting scenes, plus Shue it hot in this film. It's a great weekend afternoon flick on a dreary, lazy day. The only other movie I'd compare it to is Judgment Night, due to the overall feel of isolation and desperation.
