Bond fan since DR No. I enjoyed this, mostly. Bond being tortured/rough handled made for a fuller story arc. The many references to earlier Bond films was fun. Exciting sword fight. I personally volunteer to thaw out the frigid Miranda Frost. Halle Berry was a full character, part of the story, not just a side dish. I enjoyed Bond entering the lobby of the fancy hotel, dripping wet wearing only pajama-bottoms, initially dismissed, ultimately.

Well, I can finally say I saw 'Free Willy'! Family friendly film with a simple story. It's easy to watch and it will keep the kids happy. I bought the triple feature with all 3 films for under $10.00, it's hard to go wrong for that price! The DVD set has very good transfers for all 3 films.

So -- I really REALLY like this movie. But not for the plot. It has a great idea...but then becomes rather cliche. Outside of Madsen, I think the acting is weak, the directing is okay, the writing could have been stronger. Michael Madsen -- as always -- is phenomenal. Understated and reserved, as I have typically seen in his work, I felt he made the film something worth sticking with. I wanted to see how his character developed and how he worked with this multi-faceted role that he brought more depth to than I saw with any of the other actors. For that alone I love the movie. With anyone else in the role of Mickey, I think the movie would not have held my interest.

Kill Bill - Volume One This is my first Quentine Tarantino film. Editing is ultimate. Wow! What Music! Uma Thurman gives a terrific performance. I knever knew Michael Madsen or Carradine at that time. Both actors were my Dad's-time-guys. But after seeing Kill Bill, I have pin-ups of Madsen in my room. Paps always used to speak of 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Jackie Brown' etc..but they were not 'my-period' films. Even Daryl Hannah! I knew her only as the 'mermaid' from 'Splash'. I saw KILL BILL on the BIG SCREEN and became hooked. Now I do not miss a single film by Tarantino.

I watched all three 'Free Willy' films over the course of a couple of days and for me this film, the second in the series is the weakest of the trilogy. This film seemed a little preachy at times, but it's a safe bet for the kiddies! The DVD transfer is very good and I rate this 2 1/2 stars.

I want to make it VERY clear, the three stars are NOT for the movie. Kill Bill, in my view, is one of the best movies ever made but this evaluation is for THIS Kill Bill Blu-ray release. I am totally sold on Blu and, when the Kill Bill bundle became available... well... I ordered it when Amazon offered it at a great discount. The bundle includes Kill Bill 1 and 2 and, IF you wish to upgrade your KBs I highly recommend the bundle because you could save a few dollars. There is no difference between the 2 KBs sold as individual titles and them sold together other than, possibly, the price. I wish I had a lot to say about the Blu-ray version but I don't so, let me say what is worth saying: - The contents of the Blu-ray version are EXACTLY those of the DVD edition, nothing ... Read More

In a recent interview on the "Director's" series on TV, Lawrence Kasdan noted that Kevin Costner was already well into production on this "series", when he asked Kasdan to come on as Director. Costner was preparing a mini-series for HBO of "Earp", and, when that fell through he needed help in reshaping it as a movie. Kasdan did what he could, but it was too late to do very much in the way of cutting the series down. Other: I love this film, and I love the fact that Earp never took a bullet, lived to a ripe old age, and was buried in a Jewish cemetary near San Francisco near his wife "Josie"...RIP

This movie is entertaining in the simplest of senses, and I enjoyed it the first time I watched it at that level all the way till the end, alluded at in another one of the reviews, this hinted at something more than the surface plot. I'm not a conspiracy theorist and in most cases, I watch movies to be entertained and love explosions and machine guns and car chases, but this movie has more than that. At each turn and twist is the underlying plot of the battle for a man's soul and forces struggling for that all too precious commodity. If you've seen it, watch it again, if not, pick it up. It's a winner.
