VHS : Up in Smoke
I can't believe I've watched this movie from time to time for 30 years now and it's STILL timelessly funny. The 1970's stand-up duo who sold thousands of comedy albums hit paydirt with their first movie, Up In Smoke. Followed by five sequels, this first film is considered by most to be their absolute best. And you didn't have or had to be in the "pot-culture lifestyle" to get the jokes either. A true comedy classic. Paramount released it first in 2000 with a couple of extras but now in 2007, a new Special Collector's Edition has toked it's way to stores. But is it worth a repurchase or should you save your stash?

At first glance this 2007 version's cover from the original 2000 issue doesn't look worth it, but trust me it's a vast improvement. First, the new menus are nice with ... Read More

Let me say this first, if you do not like Michael Moore don't watch this movie. Also, if you are conservative and very pro-gun ownership, then you will hate this movie. This movie uses the Columbine shooter to jumpstart a discussion and investigation of the 2nd Amendment and why the United States has more gun related homicides than any other nation. Michael Moore is a card-carrying member of the NRA so he is not completely biased. I really liked how he went to many different groups trying to get all perspectives on this hot-button topic. He even traveled to Canada to see why they have such a lower gun-related homicide rate.

This movie will definitely open your eyes to the 2nd Amendment debate and make you question why people feel the need to own so many guns, when a lot of times ... Read More

VHS : Better Off Dead
I happened to stumble on this piece of work while thumbing thru the channels during my vacation in Aurora, Colorado, and I have to say that Mare Winningham played a wonderful part in this fine piece of work, directed by Neema Barnette. I happened to be drawn in by it because of everyday's life unexpected events that could turn wrong. Believe me, if you're into drama or suspense, this one's for you. If you get a chance to view, "Better Off Dead," please email me at jerrywashere2000@yahoo and tell me what you think. Thanks for viewing!!! ;-)

Dr. Karl Zimmer, joined by his devoted daughter Zanna, wants nothing more than to help mankind. But his partner Dr. Drago, obsessed by Supercon's potential to transform Mandroid into an invincible fighting machine, has plans of his own.
