VHS : The Muppet Christmas Carol
This is an amazing rendition of the classic "A Christmas Carol" story, with an incredible performance from Michael Caine. Every time I watch it, as an adult, I get something new out of it. And the old version, with the sad song included, was enough to make a grown man cry (a true Grinch-like story that happened at my house!).

I, too, am wistfully wishing that Disney would release a ***COMPLETE***, WIDESCREEN version of this incredible classic. I bet they'd be shocked at how many copies they would sell!

I am a grown woman, not a kid, and this is my very FAVORITE Christmas movie! Maybe the sad song is a bit TOO sad for some children, at certain times, in certain situations, but that's what the fast forward button is for! And if Disney were really smart, they ... Read More

This film made me laugh from the inside and left me happy. This is what a movie experience is meant to be. The humor is not crass, the characters quirky, and the main character holds the plot together nicely.
Parts of the film seem a little far-fetched, but that only contributes to its likeability in my eyes. It's clearly the product of someone's imagination, uncluttered by mainstream garbage.
An enjoyable family movie, just don't expect it to hold any lessons on honesty :-)

Just want to say how happy I am to see that finally this most excellent movie will be on DVD. I see it's being offered on ebay by a guy in England, the package says it's a Columbia Classics, so will we get it in the States soon? I sure hope so, our 3rd VHS tape of this movie has had it. A family favorite for years...we love the whole cast, especially the dry Tony Hancock, "I know, I Know"

I could not wait to see these two superb acting icons go at it on the big screen. What a wonderful movie it is. Great writing, screenplay, and oh what great spins they each put on their roles. No two other actors could have played it better. Wickedly amusing entertainment.

Nice reproduction. It was originally filmed in great quality. Not real sure if the Blue-ray version is that much better. I viewed it on a 720p 42" LCD. But the price made it worth it.

The TV picture was awesome. Lots of action with great action. What also really impressed me was the sound, If you are a World War II movie fan, then this is a must addition to your library.
I purchased this picture as a gift for my son who lives and works in Thailand. I was concerned that it wouldn't play on his Play Station 3 Japanese unit. FYI it worked just fine.

"I sometimes think that the movies are the last sanctuary for the miraculous in a world otherwise lost to the spirit of cynicism. That's certainly the appeal of the absolutely fabulous "Little Voice," which is a kind of litany of the miraculous." Stephen Hunter

There are several voices in this movie. The first voice is from Laura aka 'Little Voice' Jane Horrocks. She is caught in her own world after her father has died. Her mother, the second voice, Mari, Brenda Blethyn, has ignored her most of the time and brought her up in a world of emotional abuse. 'Little Voice' uses the real voice she has to escape her world. She listens to records all day and watches musical shows on television. Laura and her father, who owned a used record store, would listen to the great singers, Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, and ... I am a big fan of the Jaws series. Wasn't too fond of Jaws 3. Loved the first 2 and then it came down to this one. Did I like it? Of course I did. I don't go and question how a great white shark got into the Bahamas waters or anything like that. I just enjoyed the movie for what it was worth.

Maurice Micklewhite (Michael Caine) has always been one of my favorite actors. I saw this 007 Era movie when it was first released and watched it again more recently. It is a FAB movie. It has lost nothing over time and can even be more appreciated today. Caine is very magnetic as the oh so sexy but slightly nerdy instrument of espionage. A great, suspenseful movie that is effective without all the 007 gimmicks.

With all the cheesey B Horror Movies out there, I'm surprised this has
never been released on DVD. I bet Attack of the Mushroom People is probably on DVD! Would some studio please release this to the people who remember this at the theater or saw it on VHS.

This was a Peter Benchley novel adapted to the screen after his huge
hits JAWS and The Deep played out well at the box office. I saw this at
a big screen theater, when it was released, before the days of the cineplex. What stands out are the character roles of the pirates led by
David Warner. You don't forget these fellows, an unbelievable collection
of lost souls. This was done decades before the Disney franchise starring
Johnny Depp was ever conceived. Modern day pirates wrapped around the
