VHS : Chorus Line
A Chorus Line allows us to watch as a director (Michael Douglas) selects the men and women he wants in the chorus of a play he will direct. He asks the people who have come to try out to tell him something about themselves, since members of the chorus will have bit parts in the play. Among those trying out are a married couple, a woman who has acted for the Douglas character before, a young man involved in gay theater without his family's knowledge, and one of the great loves of the director's life.

While it's difficult to imagine an actual try-out being conducted along these lines, it does offer an opportunity for the audience to get to know the often-anonymous chorus and for each of the chorus members to have a moment (or more) to shine.

VHS : National Lampoon's Attack of the 5'2" Women
This video contains two movie shorts starring JULIE BROWN. She has repeatedly shown she is a woman with an enourmous Funny Bone, and this is no exception. My favorite song is "Queen of the Ice". Just hilarious. She should have release all these songs on another album. Already have "Trapped in the body of a White Girl" from the 80's and it was fantastic as well. JUST LOVE HER!!

VHS : Almost Blue
Long story short Morris is a sax player whose wife dies and he loses all motivation to play. Scraping by writing and performing commercial "jingles" one fateful night he meets a young lady named Jasmine. Something about her reignites a passion to play. However, will his painful extinguish his newfound passion?

I think I first watched this movie while a teenager working at a video store. I remember it being a great make out movie as there was always jazz playing in the background. When I went to college and was a brooding sort I enjoyed Morris's (Michael Madsen) self-pitying character.

Whenever I dated someone new this movie was always one of the first that I popped in. It is about the only reason I keep a VHS player around. It was even one of the first movies ... Read More
