I did not particularly liked the movie. I think it was done on the cheap, too full of cliches, macho posturing, and as usual depicted the foes of Bowie, Crockett, and other defenders of the Alamo as unconscionable, mean people, misstatements, and with omissions of truths. I personally do not recommend the movie to anyone.

If you are one like me that collects good Christmas movies for the family, this is one for you. It is a good story. Reba does a great job in this movie. The only downside to this movie so far is that it has not been offered on DVD yet.

I thought this was a movie about an independant trucker, not really. It is more of a goofy kind of love story. I think women and children might like it better. I watched it once after buying it, and have not had the desire since. I am a fan of Robert Blake, but not so much this film. If you want to see a great early movie of his, check out electra glyde in blue.

This early 80's creation of an international elite fighting unit with ultra-secret military technology eliminating evil dictators was clearly intended to impress children riled up by the re-introduction of G.I. Joe. However, this movie is terrible. God Awful. Unspeakably poor. However, therein lies its charm. The plot is paper thin, yet impossible to clearly follow. The acting is perhaps some of the worst to ever grace the silver screen. The effects are poor, and if you want the WORST blue screen effects shot EVER (!) be sure to stay to "exciting" finale. Yet, as a small child, the movie was quite fun. And now, with the whole being so ridiculous, I can easily get through the movie from laughter. [The first time I showed it to a friend with a rather discriminating cinematic taste, he ... Read More

VHS : Honor Thy Father & Mother: Menendez Killings
Some of the acting lacks a bit on the part of Lyle (Billy Warlock) but David Beron who plays Erik is great. James Farentino as Jose Menendez is displayed exactly as how the boys explain him on the stand. About the same in detail as Menendez: A Killing in Beverly Hills, but the acting is a little better in that one.

This movie is a very fun and enjoyable film. It takes me back to when I was younger and watched it and I enjoy it just as much now as I did then. The soundtract is amazing and the songs are fun to get up and dance to.

It looked good on paper: Powerhouse performer Bette Midler playing the most famous role in musical theater, directed by Emile Ardolino, the guy who turned "Dirty Dancing" into a national phenomenon. So what went wrong? The truth is, Midler simply isn't a good enough actress to capture the subtleties of as complex a character as Momma Rose. She's all big eyes and broad gestures, waving arms and manic mood swings; it's a community theater performance, going for the obvious at every turn. Is Rose manic and driven at times? Yes, of course; her father calls her a "crazy woman" in an early scene. But from her first entrance, Midler seems to have confused "powerhouse" with "bulldozer." She spits her lines out in rapid succession, with all the bawdiness with which she tells her famous Sophie Tucker ... Read More

VHS : Black Day Blue Night
I really enjoyed this movie. It's not a great action or suspense film, but not a bad little movie to watch on a Friday or Saturday night if you are looking to just kick back and enjoy a flick. I only wish it was available on DVD. I will plan on purchasing it if it's released, for now I bought the VHS version, which was failry decent quality, but on an HDTV greater than 32 inches all VHS' have a hard time keeping up with today's video quality. The movie starts out with Mia Sara catching her husband cheating on her and eventaully hitches a ride with the other woman. Along the way they pick up a hitch hiker who they later believe to have robbed an armored truck. The law is looking for him and eventually catches up with them all, but there are some unexpected twists. Pretty decent acting and Mia Sara's nice long ... Read More

VHS : Mayflower: The Pilgrims Adventure
This movie is excellent for those interested in the historical aspects of the pilgrims reason for leaving for the new world and what their life was like on a ship voyage in the 1600's. Richard Crenna does an excellent job at portraying Elder William Brewster who is considered by many historians to be the founder of the Pilgrim Church. Anthony Hopkins is very good in the role of the ship's captain and his acting skills enhance the film. I would recommend this movie highly.
