All the President's Men (Two-Disc Special Edition)
Another one of my Dad's favorite movies. He was in college during the Watergate Scandal and followed it thoroughly. I saw the movie from his collection. The EXCELLENT FILM is based on the story of two reporters for the Washington Post, Carl Bernstein(Dustin Hoffman) and Robert Woodward(Robert Redford), who stumbled across a potential lead for a story that snow-balled, to their continued horror, to the incrimination of and forced resignation of President, Richard Nixon. Fed by the mysterious "Deep Throat", Bernstein and Woodward put their own pieces together, sold two and a half million copies of the Post and won a Pulitzer Prize. The script by William Goldman and based on Bernstein's and Woodward's book, is COMPLETELY CREDIBLE as it deals ... Read More

If you like Civil War-era stories and whether or not you read the three books, I think you should enjoy this production. The characters, costumes, settings are all very true to the periods. It should be noted that if you are a Civil War (battles) buff, there aren't many here, it is a story of a family of the Old South and how they cope. I think the character portrayals are all great. One may think Leslie Anne is a little sappy, while at the same time the strength of the story, but it does work. I highly recommend.

This was a great movie and Meredith Baxter was outstanding and it was a complete shock to see her play such a psychotic character when you knew her as the loving mother with the happy, sunny disposition on Family Ties, she really scared the daylights out of me in this movie!

I first saw this movie on Lifetime, and my mom and I got so into it that we skipped our plans that night to finish watching it. Kip Pardue is unusally sexy as a serious psychopath, and Tara Reid even gets a little bit annoying as his hostage. It's really an enjoyable movie, enough to make me buy it. If you like thrillers and you like Lifetime movies, you'll love this.
