So in the big climatic scene, we are treated to shameless advertising for Mountain Dew and Pepsi. WOW. How lame can a movie get? If Pepsi really wanted to add to its sales, they should have put up billboards for Coke, because this movie did nothing to encourage me to be associated with any products protrayed in it. This was one baaaad file. The stunts were so weak that they looked like they were rejected from the video game. The back flip off one bike to land on another? lol. The martial arts while riding at 200 miles an hour? hahaha. The plot? Can't tell you. I couldn't make heads or tails out of the sorry mess of a plot except when the hero pulled the misunderstood bad guy off the tracks before the train got there. How telegraphed was that? How original! I guess if you're 14 ... Read More

This is one of the most charming "little" movies I've seen since "Local Hero." The gist is the only two pubs in a small Scottish town have played a local game of soccer for the past 99 years, with Benny's always losing. (It's the pub of choice for lovable losers, including the taciturn ex-professional footballer who doesn't socialize.)

On the occasion of the 100th game, the loser must hand over his pub to the winner, and then there'll be just one pub in town and a lot of barred people. I won't say any more to spoil the fun, but everyone's perfectly cast in this delightful movie.

Disgusting movie that leaves nothing to the imagination. Sex scene after sex scene is all through this movie. It is degrading and gross. The only good thing about this movie was Tom's attidude outside of the bedroom. I can't recommend this movie to anyone.

During the first half of this movie I thought: When does it start to get more interesting?
But the second half was quite terrific! I absolutely liked the "Oliver Twist"-kind-a-like storyline. And since I only purchased this movie because of director Stephen Norrington, I wasn't disappointed at all.

When it comes to the dvd itself, I only DEEPLY have to complain about one thing: there are no subtitle whatsoever! Since I'm German and quiet fluently in American English, I really had a VERY HARD TIME getting all the britisch accents and dialog straight. It almost made my head spin!

But still worth an experience.

I liked the absurdities in this film, but the chemistry between Selma Blair, and Max Beesley was also great.

A bank teller ( Blair ) decides to 'off' herself by jumping from the roof of her bank building, while the bank is in the process of being robbed. One of the robbers ( Beesley ) is chased back into the bank, and up to the roof just in time to grab the would-be suicide, and then, of course, threatens to kill her when a cop corners him. The robber manages to get the cop to back down. He then makes a deal with his hostage, telling her he'll kill her later if she helps him escape. Things begin getting complicated when the two of them start to like each other. I must admit that I was cheering the unlikely duo on, pretty much from the moment they began sharing screen-time.
