MY GRANDDAUGHTER THOUGHT I HAD THIS MOVIE. I DID BUT GAVE IT TO HER AND SHE WORE IT OUT. I LOOKED FOR ANOTHER AND FOUND IT ON AMAZON . IT IS A GREAT FAMILY MOVIE. IT TAKES UP FROM LION KING I. THE MUSIC WAS VERY GOOD. MY GRANDDAUGHTER AND I SAT DOWN AND WATCHED IT FROM START TO FINISH. SHE IS 10 AND I AM 61, SO YOU SEE IT IS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

Our entire family loves this flick. Its a slapstick riot to be sure and the two Jims really make the movie. It boggles the mind that this hasnt seen a DVD release yet. I bet I could come up with a list of 1000 other flicks that are much less deserving, but yet we move on to blueray and Hi-Def with no release in sight for this comedy gem. Maybe the execs in charge of this release are all "tankin up" :<)

An amazing gem of a film. "You Can Count On Me" is an incredible story about loss, familial love, coping with one's own failings, and being alone. The acting is so well done, I was drawn into and held in the story. Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo embody their characters so completely, the actors melt away. Matthew Broderick and Jon Tenney play equally engrosing support roles. The film overall is artful and well-conceived. The soundtrack complements the sometimes whistful, sometimes brutally honest, sometimes playful tone of the whole film. Another 80's movie that will NOT appeal to anyone not a teenager during that decade. Ferris is right up there with The Breakfast Club. Fun when it came out. Funny when it came out. Did it age well? Did any of us??? No, well, at lease I didn't. Neither did Breakfast Club and neither has this movie. Some fun and funny moments for those of us who remember. Everyone else will probably roll their eyes. Worth a rental if your interested.
