Terrific movie with another fine performance from Vincent Price. Also an early appearance of Charles Bronson is an added treat.

VHS : Time After Time
Well it has been many years since I saw this film but I loved it every time I saw it. Pretty sure I caught it on the big screen and then later on HBO or TV and maybe even rented once or twice. Now I'm going to buy this DVD and enjoy it many more times. Like the other person says, great acting, and story. Keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way. Just get this film and you will enjoy it.

I don't really know why, but this film had a profound affect on me. I was 6-7 years old, family life was pretty bad, and this film made me.. feel weird, but in a good way. All I can say for sure is that the emotions I had during and around the time I saw this silly flick were very poignant, and are still with me, accessible at unexpected times.

VHS : Pecker
Pecker is a film about a young man who is a photographer. He takes photos of everything. His photos are noticed in a makeshift photo gallery by someone important in the industry. The humor in this film is great its funny without being over-the-top like say maybe Will Ferrel's or Jim Carey's stuff. Edward Furlong is great in this one, as is Christina Rici. A very easy to watch film.

5.Tin Star starring: Henry Fonda, Anthony Perkins, Betsy Palmer, Michel Ray, Neville Brand

VHS : Tin Star
Although Henry Fonda was not as closely identified with Westerns as his buddy, Jimmy Stewart, he did make this one with Anthony Mann who made several of the best of this genre with Stewart (Man from Laramie, Naked Spur, Far Country, Winchester 78)--a low keyed oater where a seasoned ex-sheriff/bounty hunter (Fonda) shows a inexperienced young sheriff (Tony Perkins) how to survive in the Old West. This film doesn't have as much action as the films Mann did with Stewart but it has some great writing from Dudley Nichols who colloborated with another fine Western director, John Ford, on several films and rich characterizations from John McIntire as a elderly town doctor, Betsy Palmer as a young widow with an half breed child and Neville Brand as the bully/antagonist of the town. I believe the film also ... Read More

VHS : Long Time Since
New Year's Eve 1972,a woman (super model Paulina Porizkova) leaving a party hits something with her car. Not knowing what--or possibly who--she hit, the incident and its disturbing sound haunt the driver for years. Now, she lives with a lonely man (Jeff Webster) and the event has taken over her psyche. A strange combination of people--a drifter (Julian Sands) and a waitress (Julianne Nicholson) enter the woman's life and may hold the secret to the past that has troubled her so in this film that blurs the line between nightmarish fantasy and reality.

VHS : Sweet Jane
As in most of these reviews, i was flipping through the channels in the middle of the night, not really enjoying a free month of showtime that our dish network provided us, when i stumbled on this movie. it was about 15 minutes into it. once i started watching it, i couldn't stop. this movie changed me. it takes a lot for a movie to make me feel anything, but Sweet Jane cut through. Plus, the cliched junkie story was very interesting. What really sticks in my mind, however, is the final scene... i'm actually afraid to watch it again, wondering if that first high i got from Sweet Jane can be repeated.

VHS : Go Fish
Ok, I know that GO FISH has some bad acting. I know that the lines are sometimes self conscious and try too hard. And I understand that some people find the actors to be unattractive. But here's the thing: any movie made by dykes, for dykes, is a valuable part of our community, even ones that make us want to cry (in the bad way). So it doesn't represent you and your friends. Ok, well, maybe you haven't noticed that dykes are an extremely varied group of people, so shut up and make your own movie about your friends. And then everyone can complain about how it isn't just like them.

Maybe I'm biased because GO FISH was the first lesbian made movie I ever saw in a movie theater. Maybe I'm biased because the fashion in the film, horrible as it is, is EXACTLY the kind of clothing that my friends and I wore ... Read More
