VHS : Elf (Full Screen Edition)
Someday this movie will be looked back on as a holiday classic. Fun and smart. Will Ferrell at his best. It's colorful, hopeful, and actually shows just how great it can be to believe in something.

My 4 year old daughter has watched this film about 15 times since last Christmas. I'm upgrading to blu-ray for this can't miss Christmas classic.

VHS : One Magic Christmas
This has always been one of my favorite Christmas movies...a reminder of what is most important - the loved ones in our lives-- and how easy it is to get caught up in the miseries of the world - and forget the Magic.

VHS : Back to the Future Part III
I enjoyed the first two a lot but the third one seems to be weak. It's nothing close like the first two and the plot didn't seem to make sense to me. The ending was cool but I sure wish they made a BTTF 4 but BTTF 3 seems to be the end of the series. The acting is not bad though but I didn't see any similarities with the first two it was just a newer adventure where they go cowboy but it's still fun to watch if your a BTTF fan.

Leonardo Dicaprio's performance as an autistic teenager was absolutely superb. Johnny Depp's performance as a quiet, depressed and angst-ridden older brother was good as well, although he's more fun to look at than anything.:) The movie is very moving, and unlike anything I've seen. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to people of all ages.

5.Nixon starring: Joan Allen, Brian Bedford, Powers Boothe, Tom Bower, Kevin Dunn

VHS : Nixon
As a filmmaker I appreciate Oliver Stone, his provactive, political, conspiratorial, curious, enigmatic, ominous visions of Americana are the stuff of high entertainment. Right or wrong, his works are wonderful cinema, it doesn't matter if his version is slanted to the left, it is a distinct vision and he is skilled at executing it.
Be that as it may Nixon is no JFK. Though both are named for presidents of the same era, one is about a murder and it's associate conspiracies-presented in staggering detail, while the other is a psychological Greek-styled high drama of a hugely important personality, flawed and potent, crumbling and explosive.
Anthony Hopkins disappears into the role, and as these things usually do, a great actor and a great part/material make the best of art. Hopkins makes Nixon ... Read More

VHS : Parenthood
This has always been a favorite movie of mine, though I can't point to a particular reason why. It's a star-studded "sleeper" film, a quiet film, filled with hilarious comedy and family dysfunction. Frank Buckman (the fantastic Jason Robards) and Marilyn Buckman (Eileen Ryan, mother to Sean and Chris Penn) are the patriarch and matriarch of the Buckman clan. They have four adult children; Gil Buckman (Steve Martin), Helen Buckman-Lampkin (amazing Diane Wiest), Susan Buckman-Huffner (Harley Jane Kozak) and youngest Larry Buckman (Tom Hulce). Living with Frank and Marilyn is Grandma (my favorite character, played by Helen Shaw).

Gil is married to Karen (Mary Steenburgen) and they have three children, Kevin, Taylor, and Justin. Kevin has emotional problems and the school wants to put him in special ... Read More

My daughter saw this particular movie on TV years ago and wanted a copy but didn't know where to find one. I decided to check Amazon and there was a copy so I purchased a copy for my daughter for her birthday. She was very surprised and happy. Thanks for a great movie.

VHS : The Butcher's Wife
Demi Moore, a psychic with long blonde curls? Yes, but it works and she is charming and cute in this fun flick that is worth more than one viewing. Predictable? Sure. But who cares? It is a great way to spend a little leisure time.

I also found it funny, especially Jeff Daniels as the shrink who doesn't know that he is already in love with the butcher's wife, long before they both find out they are each other's "split aparts". In the meantime, Demi's Marina character is busy match-making the neighbors, and then her own husband!

VHS : Back to the Future - The Complete Trilogy
Back to the future is my favorite movie of all time. From beginning to end it is so beautifully executed. Top notch directing, acting and editing with a score to rival "Star Wars". A sweet film the whole family can enjoy, they don't make'em like this anymore. The sequel's were fun too, but this puppy is lighting in a bottle!
