VHS : Disney's DTV: Golden Oldies
I used to watch this constantly when I was a kid, and would recommend it to any parent. The classic animation infused with the timeless music is a wonderful way to entertain a kid for endless hours (as my parents quickly found out). To this day, when I hear "Baby Love" by the Supremes I think of Dumbo, and "When I Grow Up to Be a Man" by The Beachboys, I think of Donald Duck and his nephews racing around in a 60's era sports car. Its hard to tell by the cover but this movie is a real gem that I can say for certain, from my own experience, is an invaluble addition to any parents movie collection.

Some people say that it is bad, but for me, it's very good, because you can see and learn about rock different things, obviously, this documentary miss a lot of information and discard rock history of many countries, but nothing it's perfect.

Boy oh boy, do I remember this one. We didn't know what we were about to see when we went to the movie theater to see the T.A.M.I. show. There was Marvin, there were the Supremes, there was Smokey and the Miracles doing that crazy monkey routine and then there was James Brown. And then, we saw the beginning of a phenomenon the Rolling Stones. We didn't know. But, there was something about these guys. All we could say is 'Not Bad'. "but did you see him try to steal James' moves"

I just watched a PBS version of this concert. Marvin sounded great though I agree the technical quality was poor. I realize this was almost thirty years ago but; I wouldn't pay for this. The main reason: It's one giant medley. Marvin mailed this one in IMHO. I heard three actual complete songs. Stick to the original Tamala and Motown recordings if you need a dose of Marvin. RIP Marvin Gaye.

VHS : Chrome & Hot Leather
The saddest thing about "Chrome and Hot Leather" (1971) is that it could have been a fairly decent film; at least by American International biker film standards. They seem to have had a large budget; at least enough to cast in quantity if not quality; and to outfit their biker gang (Wizards) with Harley's-something that was often beyond the budget of these things.

They had William Smith, the best movie baddie of the day, for their gang leader T.J. and Michael Haynes for the chain-throwing mama slapping Casey. In fact the whole biker thing is handled pretty well by the standards of the early 1970's. As are the stunts and most of the action sequences.

Then they had an extremely young Cheryl Ladd (she looks about 16 although she was 18) and former Miss Ohio and Miss America Runner ... Read More
