OH MY! I've been in love with this comedy since I was 9!!! Most films I can only watch once. This is THE ONLY film I can watch over and over and over again, and laugh just as hard as the first time if not harder! One great thing about it is that it's clean good fun. Most comedies these days...you know... Just sit down and enjoy...especially on those days when you really need to exercise your abs and vocal cords. LOL! :D

VHS : We're Back: Dinosaur's Story (Slip)
Satisfactory adaption of Spielberg's interest in dinoland, but this time the dinosaurs are not confined to an island zoo. Instead, they time travel to the heart of New York, just in time for Thanksgiving, and secretly hiding among the huge floats and balloons.
Enter two lovable children who befriend the dinosaurs and stumble into the evil clutches of Professor Sreweyes Eccentric Circus located in Central Park. The dinosaurs come to the rescue!
Not a "Disney classic" type film, but it is cute fun and didn't lose my interest. Although the last half may be dark and gloomier than the first part, it doesn't seem to me to be any more traumatic than the real Disney villians true nature or force.
Although some big names are voiced here in bit parts, I can see where it may have some ... Read More

VHS : Father of the Bride (1991)
I believe that this is one of Steve Martin's finest films, a touching and hilarious update of the old movie. Martin's acting and comedic timing is stupendous as he deals with a theme common to so many men--letting go of his baby girl.

Yes, the movie boarders on ridiculous quite a few times, but that is the way of comedies. A little over-the-top chaos balances the truly sweet and tender moments that this movie is always ready to give out.

VHS : Father of the Bride Part II
The first "Father of the Bride" film made us hold our sides in both laughter and tears, meshing Steve Martin's great comedic "Dad" character with the emotions of marrying off his "only" (to that point!) daughter. However, when viewing the sequel to this great film, I was cautious...too often, sequels play for exactly the same type of laughs as the original (think "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls") and thus fail to deliver like their predecessor. Thankfully, "Father of the Bride II" does not fall into this trap.

With daughter Annie (Kimberly Williams, who ratchets up her acting skills in this film compared to the first) announcing she is pregnant, father George (Martin) grapples with the conflicting emotions of becoming a grandfather. Further complicating things (and adding a bit of hilarity!) ... Read More

This is a funny movie and well written for the part played by Martin Short. Some of the funniest comedic lines ever. I wish they would put it out on DVD as it's a lost comedic gem in my opinion.

VHS : Get Over It (2001)
This movie is not perfect, but it has moments of poignant romance and others of absolute hiliarity. Kirsten Dunst was wonderful. This movie is a semi-musical farce. I mean farce in its proper usage: not a term of derision but rather the highest and hardest form of comedy (as distinguished from satire for instance). Or put it this way- Shakespeare-s comdies are farces. Except maybe for the Merry Wives of Windsor. A good farce is very very hard to do. And there are moments when this film descends into Burlesque- and others when the humor gets clunky. Despite its uneveness this is still an immensly entertaining film. Even the minor supporting characters are a hoot (Ed Begley jr and Swoozie Kurts as the parents of our haplessly infatuated hero, for instance).

Wow! Never thought I'd see a Disney sequel that I enjoyed more than the original! After seeing all the garbage that followed the real classics like "The Rescuers Down Under", "Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" or "The Return of Jafar", it's surprising to come across this jewel among Disney sequels!

It features a unique and inovative plot, something rare in a sequel, but what impressed me the most was that it seemed that the film makers tried hard this time, by making the film seem like the original, with the rough-drawn backgrounds and rough animation. It was an attempt to make a decent and likeable follow up without trying to copy the whole thing (Not like "the Rescuers II" in which not only they tried to turn the whole original into a comedy, but also completely ripped-off the original's storyline, ...
