I may have to edit the opening scene some for my high school audience, but they will certainly be watching this movie. It was wonderfully made. I loved the mix of original pictures and movies intertwined with the story plot. I would highly recommend this for any Alabama history buff or for Gary Sinise fan. My mom even sat and watched this with me.

VHS : Body of Evidence (Unrated Version)
This film seems to be a divorce gift from Madonna to Sean Penn. After hot tempered fits of bondage and domination fueled by alcohol split their msrriage up, she still claimed to love him. Madonna monotones her lines as she strips to keep us guessing, Did she do the murder or not? William Dafoe snarls, grimmaces and shouts as her attorney seduced by her devious games, at times resembling Talman's Hamilton Berger on Perry Mason. If anyone should divorce a cruel partner they should have him or her sentenced to a prison where this is the only film to watch. Like Basic Instinct, but it really stinks and is one of the worst films ever made.

I wish I could put 5 stars here because I enjoy the movie so much, but I can't because it's not a 5 star movie. It's not a shawshank redemption, an american beauty, or a forrest gump. What it is is a really entertaining movie for anyone who has ever delved into the subcultures of life. If you know the alternate meanings of blotter, rolling, and blunt then you'll probably enjoy it. If if you've ever lived life without regard, or for the sake of getting lost in a moment, you'll like it. If you love Dazed and Confused, but were unfortunately born into the 80s instead of the 60s, you'll like it.

A note of warning, don't buy this movie if you've ever used the phrase "kids these days" in a serious fashion.

This film was a staple of my youth. I was an usher in a movie theater when it was released in the '80s. The reactions I kept hearing from the crowd were amazing and now twentysomething years later it still is one of the best Sci-Fi films ever made. The DVD looks great and the sound is incredible but the special features disc is the treasure. The feature length "making of" documentary was very entertaining and informative from, casting, to set construction, to special effects and creature design it had it all. That's the kind of features I like to see not the ones where they all talk about how great working with each other was. But, to delve into character development and script writing what it took to bring James Cameron's vision to the screen, that's the good stuff. Forget all the other special editions this is the ... I enjoyed "The Comrades of Summer." It had better baseball than a lot of sports movies, and the characters were engaging and entertaining. The situation of a hotshot manager who is brought down to earth by his own greed and over-reaching is a cautionary tale for all of us who think the world is our oyster. Having a railroad track running through your practice field's infield gives new meaning to the term "bad hop." I thought this was very funny stuff.
