VHS : Out On A Limb
Our entire family loves this flick. Its a slapstick riot to be sure and the two Jims really make the movie. It boggles the mind that this hasnt seen a DVD release yet. I bet I could come up with a list of 1000 other flicks that are much less deserving, but yet we move on to blueray and Hi-Def with no release in sight for this comedy gem. Maybe the execs in charge of this release are all "tankin up" :<)

VHS : Oh God Book 2
Let's face it, sequels usually never surpass the original. Sure Terminator 2 and Godfather 2 are exceptions, but in the movie world, it's a simple fact sequels suck! But just because it's not usually as good as the original, does not mean that Oh God Book II is a bad movie. I actually think it deserves more credit. George Burns reprises his role as God and that within itself is a good thing because portraying our Lord is no easy feat and he saves the movie from every aspect. It's basically the same premise as OH God, only this time it's a little girl told to spread the Word. The cast is a bunch of nobodies and mind you some of the acting is pretty bad, but the little girl Tracy Richards played by (Louanne - don't ask why she has no last name, nobody really knows) but Louanne does an acceptable ... VHS : Booker
BOOKER (1989)
directed by Stan Lathan
approx. 55 minutes

This is a very well done made-for-tv movie based on the early life of black educator Booker T. Washington, author of 'Up from Slavery'.

It starts out with young Booker living as a slave in Virginia. He wants to go to school with a white friend of his but is told he's not allowed to learn. Once The Union army arrives at the farm, he leaves with his family to live with his stepdad in West Virginia. Here he meets a black war veteran named Mr. Davis (played by Levar Burton of 'Star Trek' and 'Reading Rainbow' fame). Seeing Mr. Davis read a newsletter renews Booker's interest in getting an education for himself. However the family is short on money and his stepfather believes that Booker working at a furnace ... VHS : The Best of the Andy Williams Show
I enjoyed this dvd, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't include Judy singing. I have seen a clip in a PBS Andy Williams retrospective where she sang an abbreviated version of "Over the Rainbow" with Andy coming in at the end. Her voice was in good shape, albeit a bit husky, and she looked beautiful. Instead of any singing on this disc, she and Andy perform a comedy sketch where Judy attempts to put makeup on Andy to turn him into a clown.

Otherwise, I enjoyed this dvd which highlights some great entertainers. If you like Andy Williams, this is a dvd to purchase.

And, yes, as others said, I would enjoy seeing another disc released with more highlights.

I thought this was going to be some sort of artsy animal that you had to study and have a background in literature to extrapolate anything from the play. Well I was wrong. The only extraction is getting used to the characters at first because they are played by famous actors for example Frank Langella plays Konstantin Treplev, an idealistic young playwright and Blythe Danner plays Nina a young girl who's head will be turned by the novelist Trigorin played by Kevin McCarthy.

Soon you settle down and realize that this film has something to say about people and life and getting along with each other. It does not need to be interpreted and you find that even though the location is in a different place and time (Russia 1896), the people are the same people that you already know. The play moves ...
