VHS : Something for Joey
Quite possibly the best sports story ever made; truth is better than fiction. This incredible true story chronicles the life of Joey Cappelletti, little brother to the 1973 Heisman Trophy Winner (and big brother) John Cappelletti. There are so many reasons to purchase and watch this film. It is inspirational, historically accurate (it uses actual game films of PSU football -- and John Cappelletti of course), but perhaps most of all; it chronicles a simple American family's struggle with faith through triumph and tragedy. It reminds me most of the way things once were in the Country I love so very much. The Cappelletti family's example serves as a reminder to all Americans of what really made our country great, and what is the most sure building block of Western Civilization. Anyway, the ... I'm a very big movie buff and especially with old sci-fi & fantasy movies. This was an excellent movie in my opinion, it has action, adventure and Marc Singer still does a great job of playing Dar. Of all 3 Beast Master movies, number 1 & 2 are my favorites by far, but all of them are worth watching if you like these types of sword and sorcery movies, I just don't under stand why the companies that own the rights don't release these on DVD it is beyond me. This would make a great 3 pack series to buy; I noticed on Youtube.com that there are Extras like a news clip on the making of the second movie and the original trailer, so have fun watching yours truly Anx.

Beastmaster 3 sheds light on Dar as he travels to meet an evil wizard who is holding his brother (the King) prisoner in an effort to extract information that would lead to acquiring the powers of an evil demon named Braxus. In a very predictable manner with `cliché' written all over it, Dar struggles to get past the hurdles laid before him.
In short, the acting is horrid, the setting is noteworthy, the action sequences are sad, the humor is just not there (at all), the music is poor, while the plot and the dialogues are average and pathetic respectively.
Braxus looks like a teenage mutant ninja turtle while the actors (especially the extras) and the writers should be sent to Guantanamo `on holidays' indefinitely.
On the upside Sandra Hess would be a fine asset for the adult film ... Read More

I absolutely LOVED this movie!! I truly fell in love with Tom Sullivan, as played by Marc Singer. The man was fearless and willing to try anything, and I don't believe he regarded his blindness as a handicap. A fun and joyous romp. I just wish they'd release it on DVD!

And about time. Alex Haley's "factional" story is as powerful today as when first released. With the current political goings on in this country, Roots and Roots TNG should be required viewing for every single American.

This is one of the better B suspense movies I've seen. Plus I'm a Marc Singer fan, and if you are too, you'll probably like this. Lots of sex, but that's to be expected from a film of this caliber. I don't think it detracts from the movie's suspense. Did I miss something? What role did Tippy Hedren play? I didn't notice her, but then, it's been a while.

I loved this movie from beginning to end. Marc Singer made this movie so interesting in my opinion. I haven't seen a movie of this genre since "Fatal Attraction" (which was just as awesome).

You don't need the summery of Jack London's story about Captain Wolf Larsen aka `'The Sea Wolf' and two survivors of shipwreck Humphrey Van Weyden and Flaxen Brewster. Other reviewers have already done it, so please read them. I only add my feelings about the made-for-TV production, which I think could be better with different casting.

There are two things that I cannot understand about the production. Charles Bronson might be an ideal choice for the Captain if the film had been made during the 70s or 80s, This film was shot in 1993, which means Bronson is already over 70 years-old, while Christopher Reeve was just over 40. It is clear that if it really comes to the hand-to-hand battle, there would be no chance for Bronson or his character to win it especially with some other hostile crew ... Read More
