I thought this movie was awesome. It played well. I would definitely order again from Amazon.

I went to Cathedral in St Cloud. I think that is what made the movie more exciting for me also.

Thank you.

From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler (Marcus Cole, 1995)

While doing the research on this film, I discovered that there have actually been two film versions of E. L. Konigsburg's delightful novel, with this one being the more recent. Most reviewers seem to prefer the 1973 version. Maybe they're right. But not having seen it, I have to say I liked this one well enough as a trip down memory lane.

Veteran TV director Cole (Beyond the Prairie: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder) directs from Betty Goldberg (Trapper John, M.D.)'s script. Cole casts Lauren Bacall as the mysterious and un-first-named Mrs. Basil, Jean Marie Barnwell (Angie) as Claudia, and Jesse Lee (Bobby of the newer Brady Bunch stuff) as Claudia's brother Jamie. The story, for those of you ... Read More

Love this movie, it's a classic. At the time it came out it didn't get the greatest ratings because of the other movies it was up against. If your a Clive Cussler fan this is a perfect movie for you. Not to mention it gives you a little background on the movie Sahara.

I general like Shakespeare to be done in the time it was written for. However, I enjoy anything that Leonardo DiCaprio or Clair Dane does and totally enjoy this film eventhough it has been brought up to date. I give it four stars only because of this.

6.Panther starring: Joe Don Baker, Angela Bassett, Bobby Brown, Marcus Chong, Richard A. Dysart

I love this movie but not enough to pay this price. The story is told well but you can't put something this important in an hour and a half long movie. It did what it was supposed to by making the watcher interested enough to go do research after watching it. Let's get real on the price, Seller!!!

7.East of Eden starring: Jane Seymour, Warren Oats, Karen Allen, M. Emmet Walsh, Lloyd Bridges

This 6-hour long tape is not going to stop once you press play. You might rewind for a few instant replays, but you won't be able to do anything until you finish watching.

I was skeptical at first, thinking this was going to be some romantic hogwash intended for women only. But low and behold, Steinbeck's fiction proved as superior as they say. Add to that the youthful Seymour, who'll leave you wanting to see more, and it's genuine entertainment. Today's TV shows pale in comparison.

Many of the characters deserve applause. The old well-digger, the feuding brothers, the philosophical Chinaman/pretend simpleton... they all mesh into quite a team. It's a memorable production, and first-rate drama.

This early 1980s film started the Coen brothers journey into one of the best filmmaking teams ever.

I have been wanting to see this movie for a long time and was happy I landed on this copy. While it is a good transfer to DVD, some of the others who commented on this said many scenes were deleted from the original. Since it was my first time to view this, I loved it and was totally impressed, now I want to see the original in its entirety.

The Coen brothers always add a sense of "weirdness" to their films, making them totally unique. This one will keep you interested also. I rate this my third favorite Coen brothers film behind No Country for Old Men and Fargo.

The movie has its gore and very well done.

Briefly, a Texas bar owner, Marty (Dan Hedaya) suspects ... Read More

Like watching a bunch of 4-year-olds throwing temper tantrums about early bedtimes. The main characters in this film spend their time either sulking petulantly or delivering semi-coherent, self-indulgent speeches.

The movie is nonetheless well-shot, with some superb scoring to Pachelbel's Canon. Indeed, the opening montage, in which scenery shots dissolve to the choir performing, is great. It also gives interesting insight into its era. But Ice Storm revisited that kind of material with less emoting, as did Stand By Me. If this movie had been cut by an hour, with the talking/whining elided, it could have been great.
