Having studied the abduction phenomenon in some depth, and being acquainted with all the published work of Budd Hopkins, John Mack and David Jacobs over 20 years with thousands of abductees, I had low expectations of a dramatized movie doing justice to this enormous and detailed subject.

But wow, what a surprise. The movie really is good. It could be watched by a viewer very familiar with the subject, or one to whom the subject matter might be new and unknown, and both would find it absorbing and compulsive viewing. The screenplay is very strong, the plot line thoughtful in its development and the direction and editing really first class. The actors are all excellent, and the slow conversion of the psychiatrist character to acceptance of the phenomenon as real in the face of the ... Read More

VHS : Godzilla - Size Does Matter
Godzilla is just one more sad product of a film industry more interested in lining its pockets than creating quality entertainment. The film is unimaginative, predictable, and entirely forgettable. The fact that the name of a beloved classic was besmirched in the process only adds insult to injury.

Stay away from this mess and check out Jurassic Park, or even Cloverfield, instead. If you see Mathew Broderick give him a nice kick in the groin for signing on to this vapid and derogatory piece of trash. You can try to do the same to Jean Reno, but I wouldn't recommend it.

5.10 starring: Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews, Bo Derek, Robert Webber, Dee Wallace (II)
directed by: Blake Edwards

Blake Edward's "10" is, by far, one of the funniest movies ever made. Like the best comedies, it takes common human emotions (undeniable longing and the fear of getting older in this case) and uses them as a springboard for a series of manically hilarious comedic setups.

At the core of the story is a brilliant performance by Dudley Moore whose George Webber epitomizes the deepest desires of the human condition. The audience is with him every step of the way even after he boards a flight to Mexico to follow his unbridled infatuation with a beautiful young woman he spied while waiting in afternoon traffic. This tremendous insight and attention to detail adds layers of subtlety to the entire production and in turn, the ensuing comedy is even funnier.

Also vital to the film's success ... Read More

I rented this movie years ago and had some kind of nostalgic memory of how good it was. I finally bought it but was disappointed. There isnt that much action, though I still like the fight scene at the end. Its kind of awwsome how Norris keeps pounding on "the terror" but he keeps coming after him. I guess you could say there is some good character development in the character Norris plays.

The only thing that saddens me about this movie, aside from the heartbreaking climax of a brutal attack that you must simply see to savor, along with the fact that this priceless artifact never made it to the "Big Screen" was poor advertising.

If this movie had been properly advertised, I would have been PERFECT for it's time, making movies like "Making Love," "Parting Glances", and "'Broke Back Mountain"

Harvey Fierstein wrote, directed, and produced this Broadway adaption of his fine work from the stage, and brought to the big screen, SEAMLESSLY, although Harvey of course, in his adorable self-deprecating humour, denies it all, making his quiet private demeanor a stark contrast to his "Diva" like status as a performer.

It's just no use to even try to explain this movie, for I personally, PERSONALLY ... Read More

Wow, it looks like most of the viewers have been hitting the Haterade pretty hard.

The racism is there not to glorify it but to mock it. As far as predicting more sex and racism on television, I think that is probably true. This is an outrageously liberal and forward thinking movie for its time!

I like this absurd comedy and find it much better than Kentucky Fried Movie. I think they forgot to put any jokes in the twenty minute "Fistful of Yen" segment, you're better off just watching Tunnel Vision and then watching Enter the Dragon.
